13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn’t your thing

oh gosh hmm. //lays down// This falls into that trap of "if I admire someone then I am either into their work and/OR it's someone I know" (or it’s someone I’m aware of in passing, but is that fleeting stab of admiration really admiring someone?). So. I admire integrity. I admire when people take steps to care for their health. Life happens a lot, all the time, and I am so impressed by the people who continue to try to live.

Is there any specific websites you go to for references? Especially for your couple pics and characters with bigger bodies and skin folds?

aaaa no not really for myself but here are some things you can look into:

This is the drawing fat people bible: (picture of hand holding the Morpho book on Fat and Skin Folds by Michel Lauricella) 100% worth it, I swear by this book in how I learned fat

and there's that website floating around where fat people submit photos of themselves (fatphotoref.com , DM this twitter acct for password) which could be good for figure drawing

I also was really inspired by Leonard Nimoy's The Full Body Project; GREAT shapes, love seeing how people are shaped in reality; love how they differ and have more personality than what you can learn from a tutorial. Book's not available anymore but there are some photos on that site page.

and sometimes for figure drawing practice I sketch porn screenshots

-- for most of my fanart stuff I make a pureref board of screenshots of the characters; these are taken from tumblr & whatever streaming service the show is on (you can screencap netflix/amazon etc on firefox)
