y’all are not understanding. we aren’t disappointed because we’re greedy or nitpicky or whatever. andi mack is a CHILDREN’S show. a lot of this subtext and unspoken plot lines are going to go over kids’ heads. the bench scene is very cute and i completely understand the restrictions disney gave the show but are the kids who need it going to understand it? are the kids raised in heteronormative or homophobic environments going to understand that these two boys like each other when disney will not allow them to verbalize their feelings?

am i the only one kind of disappointed? the subtext was obviously romantic but they didn’t actually get to say “i like you” or “i’m gay”. i can’t believe people were hoping for a kiss when they couldn’t even give us this much.

“Cool. I’ll drive you there” is so significant, because TJ fully accepts Cyrus for who he is, and has never needed him to change to fit the standard. TJ is your typical cool kid jock, and he has never been afraid to be seen with Cyrus, nor has he ever wanted Cyrus to be different around his friends. TJ fully gets that Cyrus lives in the middle, and while he pushes him out of his comfort zone for his own benefit, TJ wants to be there for Cyrus, and loves him for exactly who he is. He doesn’t mind that Cyrus lives in the middle, whilst he lives on the edge, he just wants to be with Cyrus wherever he is.
