"If only it was that simple…" Mary sighed softly, giving Gabrielle a little squeeze before pulling back slightly to look at her, a gentle hand moving to brush the younger girl’s hair back out of her face, thumbs sweeping across her cheekbones to catch the tears that fell. "It gets easier, you know. I know it doesn’t seem that way right now but, over time you do learn how to cope with it."
"I wish it was, though. I just want this horrible war to be over with and those...those death eaters to go away." Gabby said, sniffling as Mary wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I don't want to cope with it. All of the death and the torturing and the loss, what's the point? They claim it's about blood purity, but I'm a pureblood! I was neutral! And I was still tortured for weeks!"
