She pretended to be disappointed, but the whole setup had been her idea. Something to keep morale up---and her pretending like she was OPPOSED to it would hopefully only increase that. Something about feeling like they were GETTING AWAY with something always seemed to have the rebels MORE excited about these things.

She was getting too OLD for this. There had been fighting, and then a crash, and thens he didn’t remember much except waking up on THIS PLANET not far from HIM. She had settled herself a safe distance from him, so if he woke up swinging he would do little damage, and HOPED he had more answers than she did. Apparently, he DIDN’T.
In reality, it was the perfect opportunity, if one of them was going to take it; one SWIFT movement would end the other, and possibly their cause with it. She would be lying if she said she hadn’t considered KILLING him while he was still out cold, but she would rather do this with at least SOME of her self-respect intact.
Still... With him AWAKE, technically able to defend himself---

The First Order would MOVE ON without him. Even Generals were replaceable in their regime, but HER RESISTANCE needed her.

A MIXTAPE. Adorable. For all their arguments and tension, he did have his moments, not that she would ever ADMIT that out loud. She could just imagine the SMUG SMIRK that would fill his face if she did, and that was something she wasn’t quite ready to face. Still, it was hard to fight the SMILE that lifted her features and brightened her eyes, even only a little.

possibly one of my favorite things abt leia is the dichotomy of being v nurturing and aware of other people’s feelings while also denying her own. whether it’s an inability to express her own feelings or an unwillingness, even when she’s helping someone else she doesn’t bring her own feelings into it. she wouldn’t say “i’m worried about you” -- she would say “you need to be more careful.”
which sounds gr10 but imagine if everyone time someone tried to express concern for u it came across super accusatory and suggested you did something wrong.
