Philosophical reasons as to why you should be tickled

Utilitarianism: Since being tickled makes you happy and tickling you makes me happy, my action of tickling you maximizes the happiness of both of us, which is good.

Kantian ethics: It should be an universal law that someone as ticklish as you that also loves being tickled should be tickled whenever you want.

Veil of ignorance: If I were to decide on how to structure a society but had no prior knowledge of what position I'd end up having in that society, I'd make sure that people who loves being tickled can be tickled whenever they desired to be tickled.

Moral relativism: You say that tickling you is "illegal", but in my view, it is absolutely cute and I want to tickle you.

Cartesian philosophy: You think you are being tickled, but it may be that an all-powerful demon is making you think that you are being tickled when in reality you are not, so it's okay to tickle you.

Inductive reasoning: I need to know how ticklish you are, and the only way to know is by tickling you again and again and again and again...

Ticklish underarms are so cute because they are normally such well hidden spots. You pretty much have to choose to get tickled on your underarms by putting your arms up. Maybe you can't say it out loud, but being tickled on your underarms is a silent admission that you want to be tickled.

And the struggle of trying to keep up your arms while being tickled on your underarms? Sooooo cute. And if you ever feel like you need some help, I would be happy to make sure you can't pull your arms down so you can be tickled until both you and I are happy.

Asking questions like "Can I tickle you?" or saying "I want to tickle you" kind of terrifies me because what if they don't want to be tickled?

Rationally, the answer is that you just say okay and don't ask further questions. No harm done.

But it's still scary because it feels like being a ler, which is a position of power, I should accommodate the lee in every aspect possible. So to have a desire that's not from what the lee wants, but what I want, it kind of feels wrong. I understand that some lees really like that their lers want to tickle them for the ler's own desire.

But I don't know, still scary.

I will say, as a lee, I find it very enduring, sweet, and honestly flattering if a ler were to look at me and admit that they wanted to tickle me. And I think I would much prefer if a ler asked to tickle me rather than just doing it, even if we had set up the latter dynamic and it wasn't technically crossing any boundaries.

I don't think a ler asking to tickle their lee is an assertion of power at all, I think it’s putting both parties on neutral footing and communicating desires. Remember that in most kink dynamics, the sub is the one with the most power; they're the ones who give consent to a scene, and without their consent their dom shouldn't exert power over them.

Sometimes asking for what we want can be really scary, doubly so when it's related to kink or sexual acts. But in the end, asking for what we want opens a line of communication, and someone you trust should be open to communicating, even if it feels a little awkward at first.

It’s true, it is scary and anxiety inducting. The fear of rejection is always going to be there in a greater or lesser extent.

Think of it in a couple ways: you are accommodating the Lee. You are asking and as long you are respectful in your response to the answer… thats that. No hard feelings, none of that. Just respecting what boundaries they put down and acknowledging them.

When I was at my first tickle gathering I had a huge anxiety over the idea of asking anyone if they’d want to play/have a session. I didn’t even know how to ask.

Rationally we are literally all there because we have a tickle kink. That’s not what we’re there for but it is a common denominator which means asking isn’t weird.

But I still felt a fear of rejection, a fear of standing out, and honestly a fear of looking stupid and even pushy/weird.

One of my good friends told me this piece of advice:

Think of it like asking someone to dance. Just like you’re at a dance/event and you’re asking someone to dance. You’re all there for that and so it’s not out of the ordinary to ask. Some people would love to! Some want to chat more to make sure you’re compatible. Some people can’t due to not having the time/interest. But that’s just that. It’s on them, it’s not on you. Smile, thank them, move on.

I realize you weren’t asking for like… help with it.

It was something that was on my mind too though and that I’ve heard a lot of people talk about so I figured I’d take the opportunity to discuss.

I really like both this question and Brush's answer. I don't have any experience in the community, but wanted to tell you how I felt about it.

Enthusiastic consent is really important, regardless of the fact that it's also super hot ;) and I think to get that, both people need to be honest about what they want while being respectful of the other person and their boundaries.

The fact that you're thinking about what the other person wants and being mindful that you're in a position of power is something that I'd always want from a ler, both from a safety point of view and also because I think it would make you a better ler.

And for me personally, the more I pick up on someone else enjoying what's happening when they're playing, however quietly they express it, the more fun it is ;)

I also don't have any experience in the community, but I endorse all of the above and would just like to add: as someone who's chronically afraid of actually asking for what I want, and someone who feels really bad about the concept of someone indulging me solely for my pleasure and not theirs, I think I would really like to know that a ler actually, genuinely wants to tickle me as much as I want to be tickled. Similar to the dancing allegory (which I love because I'm a dancer!) - I can ask people to dance, but I would like to be asked to dance sometimes as well. Even if people were just too shy to ask me, if that meant I was the only one doing the asking then I would feel kind of weird and insecure about it, like I wasn't good enough for people to seek out. So irl if I ever get the chance to meet a ler, I would love to be asked!

It's insanely attractive to me if you're flustered/embarrassed about being ticklish or your reactions to being tickled but you still want to be tickled by me. Besides the fact that playful bullying is fun, the fact that you want me to see you when you're flustered/embarrassed? It's perfect.

I want to know your most ticklish spot because it would be fun to tickle you there but also because I can mess with you just by having that knowledge even if I'm not tickling you there.

It's like knowing your ultimate weakness, a way to reduce you to giggly laughing mess with such little effort. Even when I'm not tickling you there, I can threaten you with it, or just put my hands on that spot to remind you.
