I don’t play current WoW at all (good thing prob) but damn I wish I could explore the setting. Like the worlds of Azeroth & Draenor have such cool potential too them, such interesting settings I just wish there were other ways to explore the setting. Basically what I’m saying is I want to run a wow rpg alsdjflasdjf. In it’s own system or through that one D&D 5e conversion. It would be so fun. Plus you could set it for literally any time period you want. And make any changes to lore you feel like. (aka.... lots of it lasjfl;asjfl;kj) You want it set during the Classic era, when the factions are establishing themselves, slowly building up and making new alliances? When the Forsaken just joined the Horde and tensions are building over Ashenvale and other battlegrounds, or doing the OG dungeons? Or perhaps you want to Explore Outland as a Blood Elf! Or since in an rpg you could be anything, maybe you want to serve Illidan instead! And this could go on for literally any expansion, or any of the previous wars/games! Heck with chronicles you have enough info you could even set it in the past! I just. No matter how shit Blizzard is, part of me will always like the setting, and I just want to explore it in fun interesting ways. So.... anyone want to do a WoW rpg hit me up la;sdjfl;dsjf (Or like just a discord server to discuss wow ocs would be fun)

Also while I’m talking about races who are interesting additions to the Horde. I’m so disappointed the San’layn were just a one off thing for an Alliance quest. Like I know Prince Dreven killed Forsaken during the quest and such, but like the potential to have them was so interesting! Basically undead Blood Elves who were forcibly raised to serve the lich king, now seeking to join the Horde? Gee what similarities could their be! It could have been such an interesting point to show them alongside the Forsaken. But nope, just all killed by the Alliance. Of course, in my fanon there are some survivors who are still joining the Horde. It’s too good of a point to just ignore! Plus who doesn’t want basically vampires as part of the Horde. Picturing them working with the Tauren, trying to find peace. Fighting their own bloodlust to work alongside others. Learning what their people have gone through since the San’layn probably wouldn’t know the full extent of everything that happened after serving the Lich King and then being in hiding for years. Idk I just think the San’layn are cool and picturing them in the Horde is fun.

Sometimes I remember that there are now canonical humans that are allied with the Horde. Like that’s kind of wild. Imagine you’re a pirate, living for plunder and such, just going about your time. When suddenly your captain who planned to sell you out to a company is mutinied and now you’re rubbing shoulders with Orcs, Trolls, Tauren and all manner of people. Like they’re basically privateers who work for the Horde now. They’re some of the few humans who could like stop at Horde ports, walk through their cities and they’re not prisoners or invading armies. Course being part of the Horde it’s only a matter of time until their ships are turned into zeppelins but being sky pirates sounds cool. But really imagine being like a lone human in Ogrimmar. Wearing the Fogsail crest so the grunts don’t try to stop you. Being stared at by Horde children who only know about humans being told about war. Who knows, maybe you once had a relative in Lordaeran whose now a member of the Forsaken! It would be such a unique perspective on things, makes me wish the cities were updated to reflect the sheer number of species who have joined the Horde. Also, fun idea for a Warcraft RPG character tbh.

None of this lore would have happened if the 2009 short story contest winner had been the story where Thrall and Sylvanas had an honest conversation after Wrathgate.

I remember reading it, it was so good, and it even ending with Thrall teasing Sylvanas by saying "So can I call you Sylvie now?"

Blizzard was too cowardly to make it Canon (and yeah the Lor'themar story was good) but it will always be Canon in my head

There’s such a large amount of races in Azeroth why is it that it’s a bunch of random white dudes that get every plot point. There’s what 2 important dwarves? Tyrande fucked off and we haven’t even seen what’s going on with her. Only one gnome matters in lore. Draenei shined for 5 seconds in Legion and now don’t matter. Then with the Horde we rescued Baine who sits there. Draka is here for exactly one out of 4 class hall campaigns.
