Ultra Business Tycoon
this panel talks about comics while using the genre conventions of a comic.
writer/designer chapter 3, in reference to a panel from understanding rhetoric (via screechingfanpeanut)
lighten up
re-reading “lighten up” reminded me of something i realized as i was lying in bed the other night, my mind going a thousand miles per hour. i completely forgot about it until then. the ape scene in disney’s “a jungle book” was a super racist depiction of black people.
in the scene, the leader, king louie, discusses with and sings to mogli about how he wants to be a human. after doing some research, i discovered that a lot of people think that the character of king louie was based on louis armstrong. considering the fact that the song is quite jazzy, it adds up.
the song king louie sings is “i wanna be like you,” which is about how louie wants mogli to teach him to be like humans, which is a metaphor for black people trying to be like white people.
i am well aware of how rampant racism was in old movies, tv shows, books, etc. (like seriously, mickey rooney in yellowface as holly golightly’s asian neighbor in “breakfast at tiffany’s”? seriously?!?!). i guess i’d never even considered the fact that some of my favorite (supposedly) innocent childhood movies would be no exception. as i grow older, i notice racist concepts where young keren wasn’t able to, and i don’t know how to respond to it.

Garden of Forking Paths
It is an enormous riddle whose theme is time.  This is of interest. I think some meme’s of time travel and science fiction have come from this.  Very interesting, it was like being in his head, and being in agreeance with him.  Very personal.
ultra business tycoon
An interesting example of a twine game, it is said to be able to be defeated, but during dead week I don’t have the stamina when I am playing catchup with my classes and completing final papers and projects. I seriously wouldn’t advise playing this game to many people.  Unless you are a tried it all type and are looking for something new.  Good ideas for other games not so random.  I like to build my brain up, not destroy it.
I believe the best medium to express communication design, is a picture showing you how interesting yet wordy it is :-)
SCP-2546
The worst rated SCP at -35 was an interesting read.  I begin to see patterns here and may have to adjust my random stories to include a more sci fi bent that can be melded in with other SCP’s.  Randomness works in this wiki, but it has to be smart as well..this SCP seemed carbon copied somehow.  Its largely negative rating however, did get me to read it, was it a gimic to garner more attention?  It got mine!
SCP-664
parody- I stepped through, and the nothingness was everything, it was like chaos theory grabbed me and when I came out, nothing was changed. Â It was irony.
Where can I find it?

Writer Designer chapter 7, my project life!
This recut of the Disney classic 'Mary Poppins' was made by myself (Christopher Rule), with assistance by Nick Eckert. This contains the musical piece "A Vio...
This recut is something else.  It makes a happy children’s movie into a horror movie with just some adding of creepy music and very secific cuts in the scenes.
Define Vidding
Vidding is taking a show that you are interested in, and then remixing scenes with music and making a new take on them. It is almost like a summary of the shows with your favorite music.  It is being called a new technological art from.  It does indeed say a lot about who you are, as you choose to make these mashups.  A lot of the shows mentioned that are used by vidders, are more classic ones, I think the most modern one I saw was Heroes. Vidders also use computer programs and clips off their personal collections, they also use something called “vidding boards”. Extra memory and external drives that have a lot of memory.  There is whole books, computers, work spaces dedicated to this hobby. I had never heard of it before, but the hobby itself makes sense in light of the assignments we have had in this class
Mock-ups will also let you know where you might need to make adjustments before yo put lots of time and effort into building your project
