Why is Sterek an Issue to some people?

Personally I don't think the age difference between Derek and Stiles it's a big deal. I mean, take "Buffy the Vampireslayer" as a reference. In that show Angel and Buffy were together when she was still in high school and he was like almost 3 centuries older than her so.... If the issue it's that they are 2 guys in an accion show (something that happens very few times) and not a Slice of life.... well then we have Torchwood example with Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones so again it's not something new, something that we have not seen yet... So the real question should be, Why it's an issue?? Why it's so offensive to some people the Sterek idea??? And then the answer turns complicated, personally my answer would be "I have no freaking idea".
