« I guess it’s that day of the year again! Sure, time has passed - but I remember my last birthday like it was only yesterday. »

her eyes gleamed, when the even slowly returned vivid in her min, slwoly emerging from the sea of thoughts and memories now clouding her head. a hint of a simple smile, she giggled a little. every year, it never changed. being born around that time of the year was - at least for her - convenient enough. days were still pretty warm, school had begun again and she wouldn’t have spend a single minute of that day annoyed, bored, or wondering what to do - in order to kill time.

« My sister never forgets. She always brought me something unique, as a present. But I guess, by now, she surely know how to catch my eyes and attention. Last year, she got me a set of scented candles... those were beautiful. I felt guilty using one - but the scent was worth it. »

occult goods, simple congratulations... it was good. yet something seemed off. yes, being a endless subject of attention had always felt uneasy. what a pain ! to see people having so much trouble for her - going over their ways, and for what ? a birthday. useless: the good thing of birthdays was that there was one each year. a particular day, a special day...

« I’m always the first one getting in class, at morning. So, no surprises for me, ahah! But everyone was there... Suzumoto, Nakashima and Shinohara-san had made home-baked for me, but I made sure we all got at least one. I would have liked to see them pulling that off together, they did taste good though. Yui-sensei was with me and the others, on the way back home, and offered us ice cream -- as expected! She is so kind... not like certain boys I know! They simply congratulated me, nothing else. They’re not to blame though... »

I think this must be referring to the one last anon I got about all that drama going on a while ago - that I think settled down now. So what’s the point in still sending people these messages? I have no clue.

As for the rude part, sorry but I think I’m actually a pretty nice and calm girl most of the time, but I do act that way when it comes to people being rude at me first so deal with it and get out of my blog, it’s clearly not a place for you.

Yui gave a soft smile as she waited for Ayumi become alert, glad that she was finally able to catch her again after school. She could still see that she was just exhausted, as well as hear it from how quiet her voice was, even though she was trying not to show it, and Yui’s chest tightened as she spoke. She shook her head immediately when she finished. “No, of course not! Don’t worry about it; you’re not on the level Kishinuma-kun is on or anything,” she joked.

However, it didn’t feel she should try and make light of the atmosphere this time, so she dropped it quickly. “It is nice to see you, though! I mean, outside of class. I haven’t seen you around much lately.”

Yui paused for a moment, thinking over her choice of words. It wasn’t like her to have to think twice about what she wanted to say, but with Heavenly Host happening recently, everyone was out of sorts, herself included. “You seem tired, Shinozaki-san…” she prompted softly, knowing that she was tired from the sames things she was. It certainly wasn’t easy to get a good night’s sleep when you were plagued with nightmares. “How are you doing lately?” she asked, feeling tentative almost.

“Oh, don’t let me keep you if you need to be going though,” she quickly added, glancing down and wringing her hands a little, not wanting her to feel obligated to do so. “I just… want you to know that I’m always here if you need anything.”

It didn’t take long before the girl finally managed to fully “wake up”, although that had been a very brief break anyway - it had still left her rather dizzy now. She had been lucky the well-known teacher had found her instead of anyone else, maybe of people who could have easily given her one hell of a loud awakening, and unnecessarily scared her too. Her sensibility to surrounding ambients had perceptibly raised during the last few weeks, yet it remaind somehow easy to manage or suppress with the right amount of self-control and tranquility -- things she could easily find at school with the others, instead of home, or her room.

Yui Shishido had kind manners, a gentle way to deal with her students and the girl knew that well; she shouldn’t have appeared too surprised by her soft remarks, yet her words didn’t stop Ayumi from raising her eyebrows in a expression of surprise, as well as moving her fingers to her cheeks - right under her eyes sockets.

« I do. I do? » she quietly repeated with disbelief. Well, she got that right: who wasn’t still proved by the recent “experience” ? Ayumi was seeing her classmate every day ! - they were no different from her. Some of them just knew how to avoid looking endlessly weary, proved or tired during class; it was something the girl still couldn’t manage to master, no matter the make-up craefully applied in the morning or the nights spent trying to get more hours of rest. « I am doing good, if that’s how I should put it. Thanks. I’m not as tired as I was a few days back, that must mean something, right? »

She ignored the adult’s last words, with a moment of silence following them - for a good talk with Yui-sensei had never made Ayumi feel uneasy, uncomfortable. Never. They had spent countless afternoons gossiping or simply chit chatting in that same classroom after last period - before that “surreal” night happened... the current situation only brought up good memories in her mind, as well as a feel of peace spreading in her whole body and thoughts.

« Sensei, have you told anyone about-- no, has anyone asked you about that night, or about us? I know, some time has passed... and other people do not know anything, yet do you think they might “sense” that something might have changed within all of us? I fear so. Do we all appear different... ? »
