“Guess guys don’ go down too easy aroun’ here. --Ya gonna take me in, or somethin’?”
@rebellions-angel -- ;
“Fuckin’ fantastic,” the mafioso groused ‘neath his breath as he could feel the holy static and crackling of ozone at the dissonance between the air that was borne between two beings negatively sided on the spectrum. The Darkness reared and roiled inside, Darklings manifesting as eyes in dark corners, fangs flashing as if in warning.
“Look, whatev’a is goin’ on, I ain’t the hellspawn who did it, alright?”
Like this for a starter my guys!
“Oh come now, Jackie, why so melancholy?”
What had been a rather distant, honestly melancholic look bored into the contents of his glass shifted to one of sharp, dry irritation the moment the man addressed him, a sureness of suspicion present. Could it be helped? Perhaps, perhaps not. Lowering his glass audibly, a gilt glare was cast towards the one who’d addressed him. Unfamiliar, but bearing a hellish aura The Darkness distantly bewared. “Th’ hell is this, therapy? Piss off.”
“Why, it’s [name]!”
“What do you want?”
“I really felt quite distressed at not receiving an invitation.“
“You weren’t wanted!“
“Oh dear, what an awkward situation.“
“And you’re not offended?”
“Stand back you fools!”
“Just do your best, dear.“
“Now, come have a nice cup of tea, dear.”
“I’m sure it’ll work out somehow.
“Well, a bonfire won’t stop [name.]”
“Well, perhaps if we reason with [pronoun/name.]”
“[Pronoun/name] can’t be all bad.”
“You know, sometimes I don’t think [name]’s really very happy.
“Now, dear, that isn’t a very nice thing to say.“
“Well, that would make me happy.“
“Shh, shh, shh! Even walls have ears.”
“Who are they?“
“You really think we can?“
“Oh, no, no, no, no, no magic!“
“We’ve never done anything without magic.“
“Are you sure you searched everywhere?“
“Did you hear that, my pet?”
“And don’t speak to strangers.“
“I wonder if [pronoun] suspects.
“I’m going to make it fifteen layers with pink and blue forget-me-nots!”
“Well, I still say we ought to use magic.“
“I can’t breathe!”
“It looks awful!”
“That’s because it’s on you, dear.”
“We all knew this day had to come.“
“I’m awfully sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you.“
“But don’t you remember? We’ve met before!“
“Who are you? What’s your name?”
“But that’s impossible!“
“Ah, excellent vintage.”
“Let me fill up your glass, that last was all foam!”
“They’re not even married yet.”
“Why, you unreasonable, pompous, blustering, old windbag!“
“What’s this all about anyway?“
“Hurry, and change in something suitable!”
“I command you to come to your senses!“
“Oh, I’ll never forgive myself.“
“There’s something important I have to tell you.”
“Well, this is a pleasant surprise.”
“Oh come now, [name]. Why so melancholy?”
“For the first time in sixteen years, I shall sleep well.“
“Watch out!”
“Silence!”
“No, it cannot be!”
“Now, you were saying?”
“Oh, I just love happy endings.“

“Oi, Jackie – get a load of tha’ bloke over there!”
Jackie quirked a brow in the direction the darkling so frankly pointed, seeming unimpressed. Unless wandering at night was somehow impressive, the mafioso didn’t see anything worth noting. Being finely suited was perhaps an earmarker, but another wealthy idiot in a neighborhood that would rob him blind the second he rounded a corner. The mobster leaned back in the stoop shaded by a generous tree shielding them from the glare of a streetlight, the gremlin grinning wickedly with void, luminescent eyes. Jackie’s amber own disengaged from their brief exchange .
Of course, accidents in shady neighborhoods brought all sorts.
“Th’ hell’s goin’ on out there? Some kinda car accident?”
open -- ;
It felt driven to perpetuation, that his mark would find him so soon. Rarely were they ever sought, as each bearer of the darkness seemed a magnet and creator of supernatural hotbeds. Coals that would be trekked and walked, unused to feet that could travail them without repercussion. Except the coming of light. From a pith did effulgent crimson eyes meet his own solid gold, encased in armor akin to an exoskeleton that was worn as defense and weapon. Floorboards creaked weightily beneath his coming, the rip and coil of anticipation plunging through and wanting to unleash devastation. Jackie was sprung and waiting to attack, minions of his own make peering from their own abyssal portals and a chorus of chittering that seemed to do little as a mode of intimidation. That wasn’t needed.
He’d take this one on the old-fashioned way. Like a real man did.
