Honestly I don’t trust cis people who say “ok I’ll try to remember to use your new name/pronouns but I’ll probably forget so please just correct me! And don’t be upset with me because I’m trying!!” Because all of my friends at college immediately started using my new name and pronouns, most of them without even asking me about it because once I came out to one of them and said it was ok to tell other people they all just knew and none of them have ever messed up

And like I get if you have memory issues or a learning disability or something that’s different but the majority of people who say that are just complacent neurotypical cis people who don’t even realize that their attitude of not prioritizing their friends and loved ones comfort with simple things like names and pronouns enough to remember to get them right is inherently disrespectful and transphobic
