*appears for a brief moment* As a child, Shou almost never had a full set of teeth, because he was pulling them out every couple of days to make some new gift for the friends he was trying to absorb into his hoard and didn't have time to wait six whole days for them to grow back. His friends were always bothered by watching him casually rip a tooth out of his face, even though it didn't bleed much, but they were also too worried what he might do to tell him to stop or refuse his various tooth gifts. *fades back into the ether*

“I don’t want any god damn chocolate. Don’t even fucking think about it.”

Instead, he offers up a small onigiri. “It has a peach slice in the middle.”

Damn he did notice. Well, he could handle those boundaries. And hiding any bad behavior his new hoard wouldn’t approve of.

“Those first two sound fine but could I get a definition for ‘unsavory behavior?’ I’m sure you’ve guessed I’m not exactly a model citizen and being an asshole is like, 80% of my personality, so where is that line?”

He has a contract typed up! He tried writing it, but his handwriting isn’t great, so. It’s not the most professional, but it is legible and relatively properly written. And so, when he finds his (almost) hoard member, he quite happily presents a simple two-page document, the first mostly some proper, official terms and a general statement of “Hoard Acquisition Contract: Monoma Neito” for filing purposes. The second page has all the agreement details.

Hachuurui Shou agrees to provide payment for any and all medical care, major or minor, necessary or voluntary, that Monoma receives, without limitation, so long as Monoma calls or texts to inform him of the care. He agrees to provide monetary, emotional, and resource support in times of stress, and at other times, when mood or instinct dictates. He agrees to provide protection whenever needed or desired by either party. He agrees to never speak poorly of his hoard member, with exception of friendly banter and mutually exchanged insults between the two. He agrees to provide his hoard member with a symbol of hoard status. He agrees to not cross any discussed boundaries, and assist in enforcement of boundaries when asked.

In exchange, Monoma is asked to accept any support Shou chooses to provide, though specific limitations can be discussed on an overall basis to be noted at the end of the document, and on a case-by-case basis in the future. He is asked to wear his symbol of hoard status frequently, preferably every day and when in public places or areas that carry risk of contact with gangs or villains, though this can be negotiated. He is asked to allow frequent contact via text, though no-contact times can be discussed.

There is no exit or release-of-contract clause, because leaving the hoard is not allowed. He half hopes Monoma doesn’t mind, half hopes he doesn’t notice. He is pretty proud of his work, though. Not bad for an overnighter studying contract writing.

“…Yeah, I am… 90% sure I can do an earring. No dangles, I guess? What gage do want?”

“Just the standard small size. I’m not trying to rip my cartilage to bits here.”

“I can do that. So I should probably go get started.” And he’s off, tail swishing into the distance.

*disappears for a few weeks* *returns for a sudden swarm of replies* *disappears again*

“...Yeah, I am... 90% sure I can do an earring. No dangles, I guess? What gage do want?”

“Okay, I can. Sort of do that? I can pay for any and all health care, no questions or limitations, will that do for health benefits?”

“Works for me.”

“The rest of my terms are fairly negotiable, so just draft something and I’ll give a yay or nay.”

“Then I will be back tomorrow with a negotiable contract.” His tail is sweeping happily. More hoard!! “Oh, I- I give a pendant to every member of my hoard, so everyone who knows of me knows they’re mine, and you’re specific about wearing things, so if I just give you the pendant will you wear it or should I do something special?”

“Okay, I can. Sort of do that? I can pay for any and all health care, no questions or limitations, will that do for health benefits?”

He’s- caught off guard, he didn’t expect results so quickly?!? “Ah- I haven’t written a lot of contracts but I make a lot of deals so- uh.” He might need a moment to reboot.

“Well, make one. You do want me in your hoard, don’t you?”

“Shit, kid just- gimme a second I expected more time to figure out what to do when you said okay.” panic panic panic “Uh. Do- Do you want this written out? ‘Cause I’ll need a day if you want it written.”

“Kickass. Usually creeps are absolute cowards, so I’m rarely in actual danger, but with these people overkill is half the fun.”

Excited tail sweeps! “Lead the way my precious Snack!”

“I’m in the mood to do some spring cleaning. Who wants to come with me for a live segment of To Catch A Predator Xtreme Edition? It’s a blast in more ways than one.”

Shou is here suddenly, his tail sweeping a bit more than usual. Or, exactly as much as it usually is when he’s around his Fave Crispy Treat. “I can double as backup and a getaway vehicle!”

Just realized that I've thought about what Shou does if someone else injures a member of his hoard. But not what he'd do if they hurt themself. Intentionally. I think it would be a little less "burning the world down in vengeance" and a little more "destroys a single room or small building and then sits in the mess and cries because what did he do wrong?"

“Hmm. Shame. Guess I’ll have to be more convincing next time.” Nuzzles against their neck. “Have you eaten anything the past couple days?”

“Hm, no. It’s been…” Too long. Much longer than usual. It would terrify the poor guy to hear exactly how long it has been. “A while.”

Admit it, you just don’t want to see a grown ass dragon give you puppy eyes about eating. That gets a frown. And scaled hands wrapping around their waist, and a warm-air huff against their neck. “Well, a little late for food tonight... What would it take to convince you to have a bite tomorrow?”
