Some Forest Service Green for your St. Patty's Day - Back in 2005 my friend Courtney Halowell asked if I'd create a series of renderings for @streettrucks magazine - of course I said yes! I've always wanted a truck painted in this iconic color, and I dreamt up my 'dream dually' - bagged, FSG paint, wood paneling, 1/4 shell w/ wing, some chrome bits left, and a modern LS-based drivetrain. Who would have thought that this old school style would become all the rage again? Admittedly I'm nervous about the next few weeks - I have family that is older and in that 'risk zone', I have kids that are now out of school for a MONTH, and I have friends that will be affected financially by what's going on. I worry about the poor seniors who can hardly get their shopping done on a normal day, let alone when people are acting like panicked monkeys. Decided to take on a 'draw this in your style' prompt to turn off the anxiety for a bit and shed a little light and fun on the situation. Here's one from the archives for #tbt- sketch vs. final art for a t-shirt design for @simplydentspdr Scanned the sketch and created the line art in Illustrator, and then 'inked' it in Photoshop using spot color channels. Some Throwback #trucktuesday (well kind of a truck) - Here's a Bronco idea I drew back in 2004 or so, for Courtney Halowell (RIP) when he was at @streettrucks magazine. My concept was to start with a stock F150 #4x4 and have it crafted into the Bronco you see here, since #Ford wasn't kind enough to keep the full size Bronco line alive (grrr).
