i'm in my 20s; I gorepost, draw fucked up shit, and tag appropriately. my ask box is open-- i'm cool to talk about my ocs below. the list gets expanded over time, and character limits are included here too.
call me Hound.
if you recognize my art or ocs from my main blog, please respect my separation of this content from my main. this is a side blog for a reason.
Characters I'm fine answering asks about:
DoL:
cj the dancer
• micah the troublemaker
• lee the revenant
• jay the luckster
note: despite the fandoms i take part in/my general content, I do not smut RP with anyone who isn't my girlfriend. this is a personal boundary that I set without her asking, so please don't like... hop into my ask box/dms and try to psychoanalyze me (as some people have before lmao).
colored sketch --> my girl Lex for the goretober prompt "display"
Lex is a Promethean/Artificial Being made out of the corpses of several women + the stuffed head of a wolf.
If you want to have a folk-authentic vampire... (2)
Here's more elements taken from various folklores, legends and historical "cases"! Another melting-pot...
Other conditions and events that predisposed one into becoming a vampire: being a "criminal" (by this understand - prostitutes, thief or pyromaniacs) ; a child dead before being baptized (overlaps with stillborn infant) ; to be born on a holiday day ; those born with a placenta colored red ; the "unbelievers" (by the Christian sense - in typical Christian xenophobia of old, Jews, Muslims and atheists were all considered "doomed" by default) ; those born with a tail (you know, when there's a sort of tail-leftover out of genetic defect) ; children who stopped being breast-fed THEN were breast-fed again ; people born on a Saturday or Sunday, and "bastards of the third generation", understan the illegitimate son of an illegitimate son of an illegitimate son.
Those who, after dying, had a cat, a bird, an "ugly/dirty" creature or even the shadow of one of those beasts passing over their corpse, are likely to turn into a vampire. There's also a strange legend about how homosexuals could turn into vampires - mixed with somehow how they also changed their gender every month due to their unnatural desires?
In Bulgarian folklore, a vampire starts out as a shadow. It is commonly thought that when someone who dies cannot access to the afterlife for one reason or another, their soul lingers on earth, wandering under the shape of a shadow. If they are not set free after forty days, they become a vampire as the shadow gains a skin and a sanguine system with blood (but the vampire lacks both flesh and bones). The vampire will then start drinking the blood of cattle, more rarely attack humans, and mainly visit their next of kin to frighten them regularly.
Remember when I said in Romanian folklore vampires had a short, furry tail? Well, while sometimes it is found by their back, like a regular tail, other times it is under thir left armpit.
While usually in vampire legends the undead leaves its grave every night and returns before the rooster's song, in some local variations the vampire only gets out of its tomb every Saturday, or during specific times of the year (for example they are sometimes said to get out of their grave on the eve of Saint Andrew' Day).
Vampires sometimes were said to wait for their victims by crossroads, attacking passerbies, wanderers and night-travellers ; usually they were dressed or wrapped in their own shroud.
Vampires were, as I said early on, confused with werewolves, and with the "nightmare beings" (night hags). But the vampire myth also overlaped with the witch myth. Witches and warlocks were said to become vampires after dying ; in some countries the local word for vampire has etymological roots with the denomination of witches ; and generally all the disasters caused by vampires were also commonly attributed to witches. Like them, they caused plagues and storms. Like them they caused sterility and famine by stealing the life-force of cattle and of plants growing in fields. Vampires were also said to steal milk, just like witches did: it was said they took the shape of cats to drink milk out of cow's udders, and once the milk ran out they tarted drinking the beat's blood. In Bulgaria, when priests distributed garlic on Easter mass, those that refused were considered to be either vampires or witches.
Some vampire variations in the Balkans/Silesia were said to each night go at the top of the bell-tower of the village and ring the bell: all those that heard the sound were doomed to die.
Other "local recipes" to prevent someone from becoming a vampire, or blocking an active vampire: piling up rocks on the grave, tie with ropes the hands or feet, to cut off the Achilles' tendon, or to place thorns under the corpse's tongue (it apparently prevents the vampire from sucking blood). Near the Aegean Sea is was a custom to place corpses suspected to be a vampire on a lonely rock by the sea - for vampires were said there to be unable to cross salted water (a belief which ties in with more common beliefs of inland Europe about vampires being repelled by salt, or unable to cross running water).
In Greek folktales, it was said one could only trust a vampire's word if they swore by their shroud.
In Bulgaria, men born on Sunday were said to have the power to identify and kill vampires - usually by stabbing them or shooting them until the undead lost all of its blood.
Wip of Lance, a wolf-girl who still has some wild loyalty towards Remy. Despite this, her love interest is Robin, who quickly bonded with Lance when she was brought to the Orphanage.
( and Avery, lol. There's a whole thing there about the prestige that comes with Lance's presence. )
One day I'll elaborate on her backstory some more but I gotta get some zs.
do you want to hurt me. hey do you wanna hurt me. hey. hey i was just wonderig if it would feel good for you if you hurt me. would it feel good. would it feel like cool water being poured on something inside you that’s burning. would hurting me feel like unclenching the fist that has a vice grip on your insides. would it feel like the release of breath that you didn’t even know you were holding. would it do any of those things, or would it just make you happy? either way, i’m right here. do you want to hurt me
Lance is a wolf-girl who was born into a fighting ring; bloodsport provided by the animal-folk.
Writing under the cut. Trigger warning for death ( unnamed characters ) and blood.
They meet with gnashing teeth. Lance has no name then. She is simply a wild girl, screaming with hunger and thirst. She sees boots and tucked-in pants through wooden slats. A woman's voice hits her ears-- "let's see if you're really so dangerous." Lance surges from her prison. She leaps, maddened with hate, with thirst, and her leap is met with a crack which in turn brings fire along her skin. Lance hits the ground.
The breaking continues. Lance lunges, only to be scourged. Eventually Lance crashes into the grass, panting and bleeding. Bloody foam rolls down the corners of her mouth. This is when the strange woman steps close, kneels, strokes her fingers into Lance's hair. Lance bristles. She does not bite. Glasses glint above her: "You're not so bad, are you? Took longer to break than the dog-girls. Be a good girl, now, and we won't have to do this again."
Lance's name: Fer De Lance. A sign of pride. Strength. Remy smiles when she explains. "She's quick to bite, and bites to kill. Quite an exemplary example of her species." Something warm catches in Lance's chest. She turns from it.
Remy cultivates her. Aggressions are directed as Remy wants. Lance learns that she must obey. To refuse is to be beaten, and to be staked in the dark, left to fend for herself on a chain. Remy points. Lance follows.
When she is able to readily best the dog-girls, Remy muzzles her ( Lance always accepts the muzzle without complaint, kneeling for it at a single word ). Down underground, Lance is thrown into an arena. Blood spatters the floor. A crowd of women yell and chant. Money is exchanged. Some curvy stranger brings a dog-girl into the ring. Remy strokes Lance's side, then pats her hip. "To the last." Lance doesn't know what it means.
She discovers-- mouth full of blood. The dog girl spasms, dying on the ground. Lance throws her head back and howls.
Remy takes her to fight twice a week. Lance wags her tail when she sees the special collar. After the fights, Remy strokes her skin, cleans wounds. "Good girl," into her hair, her shoulder. Lance whines. Laughter against her skin. "You're greedy. I spoil you."
Remy is always the dominant one. She pins Lance beneath her or arranges Lance humiliatingly on all fours, listening to the thin growl that never escalates further. She's not gentle, not with fingers or tongue or the strap-- no, Remy fucks Lance to break her, to see the snarling beast shatter beneath her, reduced to panting-begging. A bitch, Remy calls her, only to listen to Lance's fury, which can then be conquered.
Lance is brought to accompany a search. A scrap of clothing to her nose. The scent is fresh. Down through the forest. Lance snarls and snaps her teeth and trees the unfortunate girl, desperate to snap teeth into her flesh. Remy's friend does not allow this. Afterwards, Lance is rewarded handsomely.
She doesn't get out of the pits for any magnanimous reason. Simply put: the betting dries up when she's brought in. Remy still praises her, but nobody wants to fight; not since Lance tore out the neck of a bear-girl. So Remy hands Lance off to Bailey.
When Remy leaves, Lance throws herself at the door and howls, booming-desperate-furious. Bailey grabs at Lance's collar and suffers a bite for it. The response is immediate. Lance loses a molar in the ensuing beating, and learns to never bristle at Bailey.
She adapts. Learns to speak properly.
But the farm still calls to her. The blood calls to her.
i've done a lot of sketches in the process of figuring out Lee's Blood Moon shape, and while this isn't the final outcome, i thought it came out cute lmao. Lee's actually fairly self conscious about the whole transformation thing, so you get moments like this where Kylar drops by to remind her that love is real.
my most fleshed out girlies -- and their tfs, because i can't help myself.
CJ --> dancer/fighter; shredded as hell. love interest is robin + avery, which has put her in some hot water. Leighton's blackmailing her because of course. CJ's been to prison and she actually got on decently well there because that high dance skill doesn't play games lmaoo. she came back really confident and ready to beat ass. At this point, a combination of the dates + private shows/clients is what keeps her and robin housed. Regularly gets into absolutely knock-down drag out fights with Bailey and Bailey's thugs.
MICAH --> fox tf, thief, whitney's interest. they're a couple of shitbags who are constantly fighting about who's dominant in the relationship, so on and so forth. Micah's high-adrenaline, because it's the only thing that makes her feel like she has control in the helltown that she lives in. She's in good with Briar (as is CJ). Micah's a smartass who openly despises the town, and she acts up because she feels like it's going to drag her down sooner or later.
LEE --> Lee's... interesting. After we got our most recent look at the supernatural spooky shit going on in the town (I don't want to spoil it, but it's related to the date Avery got), I came up with the idea for a technically-undead freak who was found by ... probably Quinn? Who promptly brought the strange creature to Bailey. With a mane of shaggy dark hair and deep eye shadows, Lee is a freak to behold, and her twitching ears/thrashing tail doesn't help. She's a wolfgirl, born that way, and on blood moons she transforms a little bit further... her interest is, of course, Kylar. Lee doesn't talk much, and is pretty preoccupied with morbid things, which makes her have a low status in school.
wip of Robin and my girl Aphid after they escaped the underground brothel. i'd entirely forgotten you could wind up there together and oops there they were ghfklgh
aphid's my one run where robin has to deal with trauma; on all the others my hands look like this [censored] so hers look like this [playing video games].
( this is also the run where whitney almost sent herself to the underground brothel, can i get a F in the chat )
aphid and robin's timeline is pretty rough and dismal, but they're making it work-- aphid's pretty beaten up most of the time but she fights most fiercely when brawling against anyone who's fucking with the orphans. she's smart and she's a criminal, encourages rebelliousness and punched leighton in the gut. all around best catgirl tbh
quick sketch of my Whitney because she's a menace (and also because i got that event where she kind of freaks out when you have a breakdown and she can't fuck you out of it.)
i need to do some art of like... all the love interests and their corresponding characters (the girl i've got that goes with Whitney is a shithead foxgirl thief who is absolutely miserable)
