i’ve been haunted by this post i saw that was something about a princess hiding a huge ovipositor under her dress that she uses to reward her knight for saving her. this sketch is just the aftermath of many eggs in knight whose clothes all no longer fit but she’s too worried about going outside and having to answer who impregnated her (so heavily as well), not to mention she’s just tired from being so big now, so she’s out of commission until the eggs are ready to be laid!!!

Last night I had a dream and I don't remember many of the details of it but ☝️ I do remember a creature that showed up in it.

I think Tumblr would get a kick out of it, so here's a post about it (with art I drew of the beast attached at the end, as a treat for reading the whole thing)

Let me set the scene:

In this dream I'm apparently doing freelance photography work for a musician. An elitist celebrity type. Noel Gallagher-adjacent. According to the dream context I can remember, he's someone that I knew personally. For the record, I do not recognize nor know this man in post-dream hindsight. Because of our mutual connection, he contacted me to help him do a photoshoot for a magazine promo he's doing. The people unfortunate enough to be on his design team have apparently already built a set. I just need to show up with a camera. Sure, okay. We travel over to this set together via taxi and for some reason it's specifically been designed to look like a bathroom? It has tiles, a sink, a toilet, a bath, etc. I don't know why this is the case or why he didn't just choose to shoot in a bathroom but I don't question it, I just want to get this over with. So I gesture him towards the tub, he gets in and pulls a pose while I start setting up my DSLR on a tripod.

The bath is lined with different props of all shapes and sizes, mostly stuff that looks expensive or kitschy. For the ✨ Aesthetic ✨ I assume.

There's clear plastic beads scattered throughout, old-fashioned pearl necklaces draped on the sides of the bath, branded purses and watches conveniently visible in shot, porcelain ornaments and vintage kids toys with quirky features sat about as haphazard set decoration.

But sat in the farmost right corner of the bath tub - amongst all of the other intentionally placed knick knacks - is something that catches my eye through the lens.

It's a hard rubber bath toy. It has the face of a stylized-looking baby, think something similar to a Rushton rubber-faced doll. It's got that yellowed-from-age peachy skin colour you tend to see in old dolls, with sculpted brown hair and rosy cheeks. It's eyes are facing opposite directions and it has a little button nose. It has eyestalks on it's head and a body that looks sort of like a slug's body, sort of like a tadpole's tail.

After I see this, I turn to mister Not-Gallagher and ask him what exactly it is. Because I've never seen it before and it stands out so jarringly against everything else. To which he responds,

"Dude, that's Slump???"

As if this is common knowledge. As if the question has a blatantly obvious answer. As if I'm somehow the weird one of the two of us for not recognizing Well-Known Marketable Character, Slump.

This interaction and this creature compelled me so much that I decided to draw it pretty much as soon as I woke up. So behold:

wip of Robin and my girl Aphid after they escaped the underground brothel. i'd entirely forgotten you could wind up there together and oops there they were ghfklgh aphid's my one run where robin has to deal with trauma; on all the others my hands look like this [censored] so hers look like this [playing video games]. ( this is also the run where whitney almost sent herself to the underground brothel, can i get a F in the chat ) aphid and robin's timeline is pretty rough and dismal, but they're making it work-- aphid's pretty beaten up most of the time but she fights most fiercely when brawling against anyone who's fucking with the orphans. she's smart and she's a criminal, encourages rebelliousness and punched leighton in the gut. all around best catgirl tbh
