That one... He's stands out, even from the distance
Bortz, although lacking a light of their own, is supported by their beloved jellyfish, cocooned in the jellyfishes' colors and warmth, eyes closed peacefully. Diamond, resplendent and beautiful, a white so pure, is all alone, staring bitterly at a Bortz that has never acknowledged their hate. The two are shattered, mutual destruction at the other's hand.
Diamond and bortz have the most interesting character relationship in hnk imo. Since hnk is first and foremost a buddhist thinkpiece, the character interactions are not the focus. So I find the complexity conveyed in the scenes the two had together very beautiful writing.

I feel kind of iffy posting my full works on tumblr, given that tumblr responds mostly to things that promote interaction (ie sketch posts or fandom theory things) which is not a bad thing, just an observation. And i feel illustration (which is what i mostly do) doesnt really invite that same discussion(? Not sure how else to words it, but illustration usually garners "oh that looks nice" and then people move on) And I've always treated tumblr as my dumping ground for "nonpolished" things. But since twt is officially... im never posting full finished art there again/at least I really really dont want to, so im going to try posting some of my better art here too ig.
This piece is kinda funny bc I started this in dec 2024, right after my first read of hnk. Then I dropped it, and finally revisited it this yr in dec 2025... almost a full year lol.
