i really want to start watching anime cause i keep seeing edits on here and pinterest, so i searched up anime to start watching as someone who is new and i just kept seeings posts from people have been watching anime for a long time and them saying things like “people are trying to be niche and performative when they want to start watching anime”

this made me feel invalidated because i wanted too start watching bc the community seems super fun, it interests me and its something fun to watch, not because i want to seem niche or performative?!?

am i being silly here or no?!?
