Few things can surprise us in today's pop world's grasslands. Lucky for us, Sandro Perri's Impossible Spaces popped out. Obviously, this does not solve anything but the album does present some consistency and craftsmanship that will make your day ten times more enjoyable!

Sandro Perri is a singer, multi-instrumentalist producer whose works are relentlessly adventurous through genre and form.From his early ambient techno projects as Polmo Polpo to various collaborative projects like the electronic freak folk of Glissandro 70.

This album, not surprisingly produced by Constellation Records, played with touches of bossa and jazzy cuts along the likes of Tortoise or David Grubbs. Pastoral and resting on the clarity of a figure like Bacharach, the album takes you gently and kind. 

Its a good album for a day out. Grateful company in general. You will find elongated and remarkable subtlety as "Changes" or "Wolfman" as the headline and there are the intimate and sweet vignettes as "Love & Light". Very nice.

How Come You Never Go There - Feist

There is tremendous amount of buzz going around her lately. Leslie Feist has been taking in the applauds and she is glowing bright, show after show, one song at a time.  And deservedly so because she is, without a doubt, a lady full of talent. It is evident here that the ex-BSS songstress still has it in her. Metals is her fifth studio LP and it is simply good. 

While her previous album, 'Reminder' had reached acclaimed success, it did not bother me that every single clothes store was playing "1234" on repeat at one point of time. What bothers me is how people tend to associate her music with a particular scene and popular sub-cultures but forget that Feist is indeed a true artist. The uprising of the term "Indie" in the past 10 years has clouded many minds from what is gold and what is not. But Feist did a fantastic job by reminding us that she is indeed real and simple when it comes to the grit, letting her music speaks for itself. She is full of passion, she has a knack for making a good tune and an ear for a good beat. 

Feist is real for sure, so is her music. Nothing changed.

Seekae - Gnor

Potentially the best Australian Electronic act of the year. On the 25th March 2011, the electronic trio Seekae delivered "+ Dome", the band's second offering since "The Sound of Trees Falling On People." Seekei have been making waves in 2011 and have just sold out to the biggest headline shows to date in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for Harvest Music Festival. They will be playing  along with other big names such as Portished, The National, The Flaming Lips, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Holy Fuck!

Gold Panda and Kimbie fans, this one might just be the thing for you.

CANT - Believe 

This is quickly becoming my most played track of the week! CANT, the solo side project from Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, released the second single, “Believe,” from his forthcoming record. Like his first song, “Answer,” it has an electro-synth, experimental pop sound and feels pretty different from “Veckatimist.”

His self-produced solo record, “Dreams Come True,” is out September 23 on Terrible/Warp Records.

Maze - Actress

Londoner Darren Cunningham aka Actress has been steadily growing in stature. Slowly, he has been noticed on the electronic underground scene. He is unique for that matter where much of it is deliberately lo-fi goodness with dazzling melds of classic detroit, dub, garage rock and more. His debut album, Hazyville came from his own record label, Werk Discs,home of Starkey, the street bass sounds of Zomby and  the experimental hip-hop of Lukid and Lone. But more recently, his last album, Splazsh won plenty of well deserved plaudits. Even managed to get on Mr Thom Yorke's favourite list of artists. 

New material will be out soon and Cunningham hinted that Warp might be releasing this. Its all heresay at the moment and weather this is fresh material or previously unreleased, we will just have to wait and see.

James Drake Mixtape - Bombé and Mr. Caribbean

One of the biggest names this year, James Blake joins Drake to form this DREAM mix tape!

Philadelphia dj duo, Bombé and Mr. Caribbean simply combined the dreamy atmosphere of James Blake with pop rapper Drake, add some drum and bass beats and electronics to elevate it to another level. 

Mr. Caribbean speaks of the outcome of this mixtape as "a soundtrack to listen to sipping Alize Robitussun and abandoned in a cathedral, covered with a blanket of velvet with a sexy stranger on a dark night."

I am not suggesting that you should try and do it. It sounds amazing even when you're alone, in the comfort of your room.
