july seventh.

*sigh* okay so. i got my work schedule for the next month and instead of only working on the weekends, like i normally do, we have both the state fair and the county fair coming up and they’re both like a week and a half long and super long hours. and, of course, half of my team can’t work right now so i’ll be picking up most of the slack probably.

but. tomorrow i’m supposed to find out the exact hours/if i’ll have helping covering any of this or if i have to do it all by myself. plus, i’m currently trying to get a new job (doing roughly the same thing but for a different company so my schedule should stay relatively the same). and if that pans out, i might not have such a crazy schedule.

so, long story short, i don’t know exactly what is happening with work right now but it’s looking like i might have zero free time for the next month. if that happens, i didn’t want to open this and just not show up. so. thoughts? i can still open this tomorrow, if everyone wants me to, but just know that i might be vaguely missing until i get work handled. or i can just delay the opening for a bit until i get work figured out and see how much free time i’ll have.

guess what, y’all. WE’RE FULL! *releases balloons onto stage*

so i guess that means it’s time to open this place up! i’m thinking we’ll wait until after the holiday, though, so the official opening date will be monday, june 8th. does that work for everyone??

and you can go ahead and make your sites, if you’d like. the format is: htgawhfirstname so, for example, htgawhcharlie. if you have any problems, let me know! feel free to start chatting and such once you get your sites made.

on the opening date, the two groups will run into each other at the house and get the ball rolling.

june twenty-seventh.

well i tripped and accidentally made a whole roleplay. oops. actually i’m going out of town this weekend and wanted to get everything down before i forgot.

so all of the characters are posted. feel free to change portrayals, if you wish. i honestly kind of struggled? i don’t know what the kids are watching these days so here have some people, haha. if you do change though, the twins need to at least look similar. other than that, i don’t really care.

and i’ll come up with an opening date later. though probably soonish? i just wanted something fun and easy and with not too many characters. (i’m honestly just kind of not feeling garden? =/ i think i didn’t really execute the concept very well. so i might just roll with this instead. but that’s more of a question for lizzy & kate.)

but anyway, that’s all i have for now! i can’t wait to play all of these fun people!

+ the man the six accidentally killed was a homeless man who had taken shelter in the house from the storm. he wasn’t actually attacking them. they startled him, he fought back in self defense and then he was fleeing the house when they ran over him.

+ each of the original six have been visited by something or someone who is trying to scare them. they’ve had broken mirrors/windows, messages written in blood, creepy phone calls, other scary things you can think of. this is what prompts them to meet back up when they return home. they feel like something is coming for them.

+ the killer is one of these characters. depending on how this goes, characters will probably start dying. but whoever takes the killer, i’ll let you know you’re playing the killer so you can plan accordingly.

+ the listed relationships are just the pre-established ones at the beginning of the roleplay. you can decide how the six mix with the four. definitely feel free to form new friendships or romances between the groups.

+ here’s how the colleges break down: A: Bethany & Jada go to the same school and are roommates. B: Wilder & Chad go to the same school and are frat brothers and housemates. Addison goes to the same school as Wilder & Chad and is a sorority sister. C: Evan doesn’t go to school with any of them. D: The new four all go to the same school. (So, if that’s confusing, there are four separate colleges here, all within about an hour from their hometown. Sorry that description came out like some whack ass math problem.)

+ everyone has just finished their freshman year of college and returned home for the summer. you can decide the exact age/birthdate of your character if you wish.

+ yes, this roleplay takes place in august of 2019. we are living in the future.

CHAD ELLIS || the nice guy || nick jonas (scream queens)

relationships: Wilder Reed (best friend), Bethany Reed (crush), Addison Reed (friend), Jada Williams, Evan Hayes (childhood friends)

+ Chad is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet + which is weird considering his two best friends are Wilder and Addison + but he kind of tempers their arrogance? + when they’re being impossible he’s the one apologizing for them + and weirdly he kind of makes them both better? + Chad is both an athlete and a scholar + he loves working out with Wilder + but he also really loves going to class and has really good grades + but this whole year he’s been missing Bethany + he’s had a crush on her for the longest time + but he never really went there + mostly because he didn’t know how Wilder would handle it + Wilder probably would’ve beat him up + and Chad didn’t want to ruin their friendship + so he’s mostly been third wheeling to Wilder and Addison all year + he really thought Bethany would go to the same school with them + Chad has made a few new friends but not many + he’s honestly thinking about transferring next year + he got a really good scholarship to go elsewhere + and even though Wilder and Addison are great + he kind of thinks it’s time to grow up and be on his own + plus Chad has never really gotten over the accident + he actually saw the guy running out behind the car + but he didn’t yell in enough time for Wilder to stop + so he thinks it’s his fault + and he’s actually tried talking to Wilder about it + but Wilder just shuts him down + Chad doesn’t think going back will change anything either + he’s the only one who thinks they should turn themselves in + because that guy probably had a family who wonders what happened to him + and isn’t it their duty to make peace with it? + but no one else really wants to do that + Chad insists that it was an accident and they’ll all be fine + and when the killer shows up and starts attacking them + Chad will just insist harder that turning themselves in is the right thing to do + since he believes that’s the only way to save everyone + and saving everyone is all he really wants

+ just your stereotypical nerd + loves science and astronomy and is always studying + knows random little known facts about things + and will tell you all about them whether you want to know or not + weirdly that’s actually made him cool at parties? + because drunk people tend to think he’s hilarious + has been in love with Bethany since they were kids + but doesn’t think she’ll ever notice him + Bethany & Jada wanted him to go to the same college with them + and he got in and wanted to go + but the real reason he went to a different school + is because he thought he could leave for a year and get cool + and come back and win Bethany over + but Evan is just the same nerd he always was + just now he’s also president of the science club + so that massively backfired + is a super nice and sweet guy who always tries to include everyone + pretty much gets along with everyone too + but is also massively awkward, especially around bethany + he loved going to The House and just watching Bethany reading in a corner + he honestly hasn’t really thought much about that night + other than to wish it had never happened + he was the one who told them where it would be best to dig the hole + so the body wouldn’t wash out or dug up by animals + Evan honestly considered not coming home for the summer + he could’ve gone to science camp for the summer + but Bethany called to make sure he was coming home + and Evan literally can’t say no to Bethany + so he came back + but now that something is after them + he thinks it’s only just a matter of time before they’re all caught + and what will happen to his future then? + sometimes Evan doesn’t believe the accident happened at all + like maybe they made it up or it was all a dream or something + and maybe if he believes that enough, it will be true + (but that’s just wishful thinking)

+ one of the strangest people you will ever meet + Poppy’s life is nuts but she basically just goes with the flow + no one has ever really been able to handle Poppy + she’s super popular but basically gets along with everyone??? + loves to shop and always looks so fly + always knows where all the parties are + and usually somehow makes it to all of them + that’s how she met Charlie actually + she was moving between parties, found him on campus and brought him along + she informed him later that night that they were dating + he bought it and they’ve been together ever since + Charlie is super fun and literally just lets Poppy be Poppy + the one thing he doesn’t really like Zane but no one likes Zane + except Poppy and it’s only because she gets him??? + but while he’s still mad at his dad for his affair, she just let it go + it’s always been a part of their life so Poppy just accepted it + who cares if she’s the real daughter or the maid’s daughter + she still gets to live in the big house with the fancy cars and clothes + Zane needs to learn to chill out + which is why she agreed to let him come to their ghost party thing + she was honestly surprised that he wanted to come + or would’ve been if she were capable of showing emotion + but Zane actually showing an interest about something is rare + she knows Charlie and Rayna aren’t happy about it but maybe they’ll warm up to him + she really hopes they meet a ghost + Poppy is kind of psychic so she’ll definitely be feeling around for the energy + (which means she will literally be feeling the walls) + says some of the weirdest shit you will ever hear + but thinks she’s totally normal???? + oh and Rayna is her best friend + she’s just in denial

+ Zane has always been the villain of his own story + too much anger, too much hatred, too much prejudice + rich and spoiled rotten, Zane’s always had everything he wants + except a real family + his dad had an affair with one of the maids + right around the time his mom also got pregnant + so his mom and the maid gave birth around the same time + one of them had him and one of them had Poppy + they’re not sure which is which + which is the real kid and which is the bastard + and that’s just where Zane’s trust issues start + he’s a real piece of work + cocky, arrogant and, because of that, a loner + literally the only person who actually likes him is Poppy + most people just tolerate him and the feeling is mutual + Zane literally hates people + Poppy is alright but even her he treats with a weird sense of affection + it’s like it’s Zane’s mission to just self destruct + to take himself down so no one else has to go to the trouble + but unfortunately Zane caught feelings for Rayna + though she flat out hates him so that’s going nowhere fast + but just for once he wants someone to like him because they want to + to make him want to be a better man + and not like him just because they’re related, like Poppy + which is why Zane invited himself along to their ghost thing + which he thinks is stupid but Zane thinks everything is stupid + Poppy wasn’t too hard to convince + she’s usually glad to have him along since it means he’s being social + but Zane can tell the other two are way less than pleased + it’s whatever though + Zane isn’t here to have people like him + after all, every story needs a good old fashioned villain

+ a quieter bookish girl, Bethany is the polar opposite of her brother + though she loves him to death and would do anything for him + and having a twin has always been fun + she’s always had someone to protect her + not that she really needed it? + just being associated with Wilder almost made Bethany untouchable + instead she pretty much flew under the radar in high school + she mostly just hung out with Jada & Evan + it was great + well, as great as high school can be + college has been treating her fine though + she loves rooming with Jada + Jada is the only one who brings Bethany out of her shell + and she’s the only one besides Wilder who knows that Bethany’s real name is Bunny + she still has never forgiven her parents for landing her with that one + thankfully her middle name is normally so she’s always gone by it + Bethany has always had a love of books and basically hates nature + though the one place Wilder always managed to drag her was The House + she loved it there + she loved curling up in the corner with the book and just being there + but then He ruined that + Bethany still hasn’t been able to talk about that night + mostly because she knows what it’s done to Wilder + even though they went to different colleges they still have that twin telepathy + plus they call each other every night + Bethany was the most resistant to go back to The House + even though she loved it best + she’s afraid everyone will decide to turn themselves in + and what if that means losing Wilder forever??? + she couldn’t handle that + she didn’t even want to go back for the summer + but she wanted to see Wilder + she’d literally do anything for him; he’s her one and only weakness

+ just your typical average handsome jock + has gotten everywhere on his good looks and his skill with a ball + honestly not so bright sometimes + but at least he’s easy on the eyes + wants to be more than just a jock though + thought college would finally be his shot to be someone + but it’s just more of the same + in all honesty he thinks it’s Addison who is dragging him down + but he wouldn’t tell her that + he’d honestly like to date someone a little more ~intellectual + and maybe someone who could help him find his passion for someone + has honestly always been a little jealous of Chad + even though Chad is his best friend, he’s always seemed so ~together + he’s nice and smart and funny + in ways that Wilder doesn’t think he can ever be + same with his sister Bethany + the two are literally polar opposites despite being born only minutes apart + and yet he’d still say Bethany is his best friend + she’s the one and only thing he’d go to any lengths to protect + because Bethany has always treated him like a person, not an object + and she’s the only person who has always believed in him + and right now, he honestly just feels kind of stuck + especially after last summer + Wilder was the one driving the night of the accident + even though everyone in the car was shouting and it was raining + so he couldn’t really see where he was going + he still feels hella responsible for the whole thing + and his guilt just won’t quit + but he doesn’t know what to do about it + he knows that if they turn themselves in, he’d take the fall + because he was driving so he’s the most responsible + but he doesn’t want to single handedly ruin his life + so he’s hoping to just ignore the problem and hope it goes away + because that’ll totally work (right?)

+ had the most unusual childhood + grew up in a survivalist commune with her dad + so if there’s one thing Rayna knows how to do it’s take care of herself + but that was a long time ago + though it made Rayna the weird kid growing up + so she became that snarky sarcastic kid to compensate + that’s actually how she became friends with Charlie + they tried to out sarcasm each other and became friends + he’s honestly more like her brother + which is why she gave him serious side eye when he started dating Poppy + but Poppy has kind of grown on her???? + Zane definitely hasn’t + she actually hates everything about him + from his stupid hair to his stupid face to his stupid voice + she can’t believe he was invited to Charlie’s ghost party + she calls it that just to annoy him + but now she’s not going to have anY FUN because of him + and she’s not pleased about meeting the other six either + though when the killer shows up she’s going to be hella valuable + and their best bet at everyone getting out of there alive + because if there’s one thing Rayna can do it’s survive + it’s what she’s done all her life + and when it comes to saving her friends + surviving is just an old habit

+ has lived and breathed horror movies pretty much since before he could talk + the first movie he ever remembers watching is The Evil Dead + his older brother was having a sleepover and Charlie snuck in the room + he was the only one who wasn’t scared + his love for horror was born + it was his idea to go to the haunted house and look for ghosts + he brought all of his camera equipment + he invited Poppy and Rayna along + thinking he could be cool and protect them both + but for some reason they also brought Zane??? + literally can’t stand that guy + he’s going to ruin the entire night + all Charlie wants is to see an actual ghost + he’s going to get the shock of his life when they find six other people there + not that he’s scared + he’s definitely not scared + he’s definitely annoyed though because they’re going to ruin his shoot + and even though Charlie and Poppy have been dating for a while + he’s still trying to impress her???? + because she’s way out of his league???? + and one day she just kind of picked him to date + and he’s afraid she’ll leave just as easily + even though he’s always kind of had a thing for Rayna + but at this point she’s more like his sister than a girlfriend + they’ve been best friends forever + is the actual comedy relief + always has a sarcastic comment to contribute + especially at the least opportune moments

+ your stereotypical popular girl + has always had everything handed to her + because of her pretty face, her blonde hair and her daddy’s money + everyone always assumed she would end up with Wilder Reed + they have been a power couple even before they could walk + they made it official in high school + but Addison has secretly always had a thing for Chad + because he seems to genuinely like her + not just because of her looks or her money or her popularity + she feels like she can actually talk to him + and that’s rare for Addison + tends to come off as a straight up bitch + but it’s only because she doesn’t know how to let people close to her + hasn’t really made any friends in college + sure, she has a posse but it’s not the same + she hasn’t made any real friends + sometimes she feels like Chad is her only real friend + but he’s the one person she can’t have + it was her idea to just bury the body without a word + oddly she was the most level headed the night of the murder + because it was the one thing in her life that hadn’t gone exactly to plan + in a weird way it was the most thrilling night of her life + it made her feel alive in a way nothing else ever has + not that she’d admit that to anyone + thinks that the body should just stay buried + after all it’s part of the past now + and the past can’t hurt them anymore

premise.

august 11, 2018.

six friends met for the last time before they would each go their separate ways to their new colleges. they wouldn’t be travelling far. each would be within about an hour of the group. but it would be the first time they would be apart. the six had grown up together. even though their lives had changed and they’d changed, they’d stayed friends. and now they would all be going their separate ways.

they met that night in the same abandoned house they’d been coming to all through high school. it was their place. or it had been. on this night, they weren’t alone.

it was your stereotypical horror night. pouring rain, crashing thunder, blinding lightning. man with a baby mask. and when he appeared, they screamed and ran. but he pursued. and as they were backing out of the driveway, running for their lives, their car thunked over a body. his body.

so they buried him in the woods. and they never spoke of that night again.

present day.

until now.

the six returned for the summer but their lives had all changed. but the knowledge of what happened last summer was too great. so they decided to meet again. on the one year anniversary of the death.

but this time they aren’t alone. the house has been found by others. and while the others don’t know what happened there, they know something happened there. but they just think the house is haunted.

but then, something else joins them in the house, or rather, someone. and the six know their secret is no longer safe. someone found out what they did. or someone hasn’t settled with the past.

all they know is the ten of them will have to fight to stay alive. or they might just be the killer’s next victim.

and here? well, everyone is a suspect here. trust no one....
