I could....make myself a new talksprite and do 'in character' posts where I remake my old Sburban guides and do classpect analysis in character, maybe as someone reaching across the multiverse to help people with their sessions after completing their own...?
I know this blog has been dead for a bit, but I mentioned to my stream chat that I used to run this homestuck/classpect blog and it turns out a few people actually remembered me hahah! So some updates:
Still a Maid of Space!
Realized I was trans a few years back, so my old icon on here being fem REALLY doesn't suit me anymore lmao.
Still a giant homestuck! My faves are Aradia and Calliope.
Started doing art & streaming fulltime as my job! Professional nerd now lmao.
So uhhh yeah! I'm not sure if I'll revive this blog although I'm sure because homestuck is a universal constant in my life I might eventually but if anyone is interested in all my silly art/vtubing/streamer stuff, please feel free to check me out on my main blog as well as in other places. I'm @astral-arts on here and you can find me in other places by the same name (usually with the hyphen removed or as an underscore of some kind!)
maybe I'll do homestucking again.............................. if i have time >;3
hey! please consider joining my kin and LGBT friendly homestuck discord server for fandom discussion with a side of roleplaying. there aren’t many people at the moment because it’s just starting out, but i will try to keep you entertained. hope to see you there! :Y
This blog has essentially been dead for 707958 years, but I’m considering making a new classpect blog in light of the Hiveswap extended zodiac.
Things the blog will discuss:
The extended zodiac, canon characters as they appear, possible classpects for those canon characters, and why they might be the aspect hussie assigned to them.
More explanations of canon homestuck mechanics (basically, I’d be re-writing my guide on things like the cruxtruder, denizens, etc)
explanations and discussions of the new descriptions of aspects and blood castes as described by the new quiz
What it will not do is:
attempt to do the successful/unsuccessful session analysis I used to do
give possible quadrants based on two classpects
give definitive classpects to other people (meaning “you are this classpect” vs “you could be this classpect”)
Reason being: the session analysis’ take too long, and all three of those previously mentioned things quite frankly, make no sense. There is no way to pair people based on classpect alone (and I always said I was kind of uncomfortable doing that, especially after people got mad at me for not putting them in a red quadrant based on classpect with their s/o’s classpect) and there is no one who knows you better than yourself. So, if I do make this new blog, you can give me a general description of yourself and I will give you a few classpects that might make sense for what you’ve told me, but I will ultimately leave that up to you. Trying to choose a classpect for another person (especially one they’ve never met) is a silly endeavor, especially trying to say “I am the definitive source on this, you must be this classpect.”
But I am considering making a new blog. If anyone who still follows me is interested in that sort of thing, maybe reply/reblog this post saying so?
U know girls can't be rage players right. It's men that are socialized to have and utilize anger and aggression right
Okay so first of all you obviously read my desc. Where it states I’m a knight of rage. So you should have also noticed that it states that I am a boy. Secondly;
?????????? Bro u can be a rage player or whatever player u are no matter ur gender like bro my dude ur very very dumb? Also the rage aspect doesn’t go off aggression it goes off anger, anxiety, and fear. Literally anyone can have those things so why don’t you hippity hop off my dick and let me be the gross rage player that I am
Posting to this blog for the first time in 800 years because WOW THIS ANON URKS ME??
Hello dears~ It’s time for a Space player to show you how it’s done.
Forgive me for being blunt, but as far as I know, there is literally no evidence supporting that girls can’t be Rage players. Throughout the entirety of the comic Homestuck, we see multiple genders from quite a few aspects. Dave and Aradia both belong to the time aspect. Nepeta and Dirk both come from Heart, Roxy and Equius both come from Void. I don’t believe there has ever been any evidence of gendered aspects in the comic. Classes? Sure, if you want to follow that kind of thing, although it’s been pretty heavily implied that Callie might have actually been wrong about that, and there are a whole host of theories involving why a class may follow someone’s gender identity rather than their biological sex. I won’t get into that for now because we’re talking aspect here, though.
As for the idea that only men can be rage players because they are the ones who have been socialized to use anger and aggression.... have you seen an angry woman before? I do understand the ideology of your argument, but it is inherently flawed. Yes, men have been socialized to utilize anger. But by dulling the rage aspect down to Anger and Aggression, you are ignoring a HUGE and integral part of the aspect.
Rage is not simply anger. Rage is fear. Rage is single-mindedness. While men have been socialized to have anger, women have been socialized to have and use their own fear as a weapon since time immemorial. Women who lacked basic rights up until the past century. Women who had to fear for who their fathers would arrange a marriage with, women who had to focus on a single thing just to get them through the day, or their fear would swallow them whole because they lacked the basic rights to protect themselves. That is also the Rage aspect. By ignoring this, you ignore half of the entire aspect.
And even beyond that, the thing that makes a person a Rage player is individual. It’s a person by person basis. There are many women who have been taught from a young age to utilize and use their anger. Same as there are men. By saying that only men can be a rage player is to say a woman could not be angry or use that anger, which is incorrect at its most basic foundations.
Second of all. Ramalsk, as stated, is a boy. Don’t make me argue with you over this child’s right to be called the correct gender, it will not end pretty for you. There is a reason Porrim and I share the same classpect.
And before anyone else decides to harass this poor boy (because I’ve heard of people giving him problems for being a Knight as well) a) he’s a boy, so your argument about gendered classes is moot to begin with. b) There is an actual canon female Knight of mind you tosspots.
Hello! How would a session between a Bard of Blood (chaotic good), Rogue of Time (chaotic good), Mage of Breath (true neutral), Witch of Doom (chaotic neutral), Page of Heart (neutral good), Knight of Space (neutral good), Heir of Mind (lawful neutral), Prince of Light (neutral evil), Seer of Void (lawful neutral) Maid of Rage (chaotic evil), Thief of Hope (neutral evil) and a Sylph of Life (lawful good) go? I've included their moralities for a bit of clarification. Thank you so much!
Of Course! Thank you for being patient.
Number of Players:
12 players, the largest possible session!
Required Players:
You have a Rogue of Time, and a Knight of Space! Great!
Breeding the Genesis Frog:
You hae a Knight of Space! This player will be excellent for breeding the frog, and protecting it. Be careful though, your Knight oesnt have anyone to protect them like most other space players would. They’ll have to keep their guard up.
In Case of a Scratch:
A Roue of Time is an interesting choice for a Time player! They can be a wonderful addition to any team, especially during scrath if they know what they’re doing. Since they steal Time from others, they could steal the Alpha timeline nd give it to their teammates, effectively leading them to the appropriate time!
O/D/S Balance:
Offense: Bard of Blood, Prince of Light, Thief of Hope
Defense: Witch of Doom, Knight of Space, Heir of Mind, Maid of Rage
Support: Rogue of Time, Mage of Breath, Page of Heart, Seer of Void, Sylph of Life
You have quite the large session here! And with many amazing players no less. I could very easily see this team succeeding in battle. Your Sylph will be the main healer of the group, while your Knight and Witch will be your defensive core, protecting the players and using fate to manipulate the odds into your favor. The Maid will most likely be a Tank on the field, creating Rage for other players as support, but also Rage for themself to drive them into battle. They would also make a great offensive addition to your team because of this! The Bard, Prince, and Thief are your obvious offensive players, they can wreck house on the front lines. You’re Cleanup Crew are the Rogue, Mage, And Seer who can act as the ‘problem fixers for your team.
I can see this team doing amazingly at battling the black king!
Player Relations:
So, you’re obvious PPP’s are the Bard, Maid, Thief, and Prince. You actually have a wonderful counter to all of these, though! Keep your Bard by your Page (only after they go god tier please!) nd they should help neutralize the Bard’s tendancy to destroy bonds. The Prince can stay by the witch of Doom, who can counteract the issue of the Prince destroying the session’s good fortune by changing their fate. The Thief can easily be handled by the Mage and Seer. Both of them should help see through any schemes they have and act accordingly. As for the Maid, just keep them away from the Page, and edge them more towards the Mage as well.
Pros Of This Session:
Your players are very battle ready!
Your PPP’s can be dealt with, although perhaps not easily.
Cons Of This Session:
Your Knight will most likely be stressed, having to create the frog and have no one else to help with the breeding.
Should a scratch need to occur, you’re Rogue could get lost in Time in the process. Since they only give Time to others, they’d need to be wary of giving it all away without continuing forward with their team.
Should any of your players (especially the page) die early on, you’ll lose the balanced personality dynamic you have going on rather quickly.
Final Conclusion:
I believe your team has a big chance of sueeding here! It is a delicate balance, though. Be careful not to break it!
Hey, why do people mention a player's gender with their classpect? It isn't very important is it?
Personally, no, I do not believe gender is important! Some people do, because they associate classes with certain genders. For instance, Bards, traditionally are associated only with male players, from what we’ve seen. Although, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if your god tier could match to whatever identity you would feel closest to. I believe at one point on twitter Hussie also said classes weren’t gendered, but I wouldn’t quote me on that. I hope that helps!
what's the largest session you can analyze? I have a 12 person session, so I want to ask before since I know many don't like analyzing big sessions. It okay if you don't, I don't mind one bit if you don't analyze big sessions.
I will answer 12 player sessions! That is the largest though, because any longer and you would have duplicate classes.
How would a session with a Rogue of Hope. Witch of Time, Page of Void, Thief of Breath, Knight of Light, Mage of Life, and Mage of Space go?
Let’s take a look!
Number of Players:
You have seven players, and two among them are duplicates. So, you’re session is likely to be null due to the imbalance of derse/prospit, and you’re Space player is in danger because of it.
Required Players:
You do have Space, Time, and a Knight! I see a Witch of Time, Mage of Space, and a Knight of Light. Wonderful!
Breeding the Genesis Frog:
Provided your Mage of Space can stay alive, the Knight of Life and Mage of Space make an amazing breeding pair. Just be sure that the Knight keeps the Mage from messing around too much with Spacial glitches. You don’t want to lose your Space player.
In Case of a Scratch:
A Witch of Time is a powerful Time player, perfect for scratching or any Time-related shenanigans.
O/D/S Balance:
Offense: Thief of Breath
Defense: Witch of Time, Knight of Light
Support: Mage of Space, Mage of Life, Page of Void, Rogue of Hope
Your team isn’t very offensive, but withe the amount of support and defense you have, you should be alright. Be prepared not to have everyone for the final battle though. Your Life and Space players could potentially be dead by the time you get to the Black King, and you need to account for that.
Player Relations:
The major PPP I see here is your Thief. As Thieve’s steal their aspect, your Thief could potentially steal the freedom of your other players. I would have the Rogue make sure to keep an eye on them to prevent possible trouble. You’ll want to keep them away from your Page.
Pros Of This Session:
You have some good player teams, especially with your Mage of Space/Knight of Light frog-breeding combo.
Your Witch and Life players will be great at preventing problems.
Morale will never be an issue with the Rogue of Hope.
Cons Of This Session:
It’s in very high likelyhood that one or both of your Mages will die.
Your Thief could cause serious problems, particularly for the Page.
Final Conclusion:
I think this session, like many I’ve surveyed before, has the potential to end well, but because of imbalances, would be considered Null. Your Mages could be the downfall here, especially with one being the Space player. I’m sorry, but I don’t see the chance for success here.
I would just like to put out there that I am so deeply sorry I haven’t posting or answering asks lately. I have been super busy with my new job and college. I will try to answer asks, slowly but surely. I am closing the askbox for now so I can answer all the ones in it, and will open it back up once those are handled. As of right now, I have over 100, so please bear with me.
Quick question. I may be a knight because i put on a mask and it's become pretty ingrained. Like to the point where i answered the godtier tests in the persona of the mask and got mage. How can i tell for sure what my title is?
**again going out of order because it relates to a previously answered question**
Hmm, that is a tough one. The only way i can truly see for you to find it, is to find something or someone that can manage to take the mask off, and allow you to answer the questions from a non-objective standpoint.
I was wondering what you had to say on our session? We have Sylph of Time (m/derse) , Knight of Rage (f/derse), Witch of Doom (f/derse), Page of Hope (m/prospit), Rogue of Life (m/prospit) , and Mage of Space (f/prospit). Would it be possible for the session to be more Dark Soulsesque in how often the players die and come back?
Of course, anon! (for the Dark Souls portion of this ask, the Page of Light is taking over. I’ve never played, and he has.)
Number of Players:
6 Players, if I’m counting right. Perfect.
Required Players:
Sylph of Time, Knight of Rage, Mage of Space. Not bad.
Breeding the Genesis Frog:
The Mage will be fine at breeding, but…keep the Knight out of it. I have the feeling single-mindedness will be bad for frog breeding. I’d just have him on Mage-protection duty.
In Case of a Scratch:
Sylph’s of Time are some of the best Time players in the game, being able to heal Time itself. They’ll be great for a Scratch and any other Time shenanigans that occur.
O/D/S Balance:
Offense:
Defense: Knight of Rage, Witch of Doom
Support: Sylph of Time, Mage of Space, Page of Hope, Rogue of Life
Hmm, I would have that Witch play offense, if they could. Otherwise, your chances of defeating the black king are slim. you’ll need a strong offense to do damage to him.
Player Relations:
The Knight and the Witch are the two issues here. The Knight will wear a Mask of Rage, and will need to be tempered. The Sylph can do this, as well as the Page. The Witch of Doom needs help with morality, and perhaps the Rogue could help in that area.
Pros Of This Session:
You have both a Healing class and a Seer class, as well as another amazing Life aspect player who can help fix wounds.
Your Time player will be wonderful should anything go wrong in the session.
Cons Of This Session:
You’re missing some key offense, so the last battle will be tough.
Final Conclusion:
I’d say your session has a a large chance up until the end game battle with the black King. That battle will be gruesome. Expect to lose people. I do think you can win, but not without loss.
Good luck.
~The Maid of Space
Dark Souls Question:
*insert Page of Light appearing out of a book from nowhere*
Not exactly sure what you mean, but if you mean that when they die they respawn at a specific point elsewhere, then the answer is no. None of your members have that kind of power (barring one, which would be contested). And in dark souls when you die you lose all of your souls you haven’t spent yet (basically exp), but it can be regained later by finding your body, i don’t believe that sburb would allow for that kind of event to occur.
How long is *too* long for a session to last? Taking into account its a fairly large session (8-12) people in which everyone eventually God Tier (would this halt the aging?). Its filled with completionist who want to make the perfect universe, dick around on their Dream Moons, ext…. and who the hell knows what the Witch of Void is off doing. (sorry for the odd question also your talksprite is gr8)
*Too* long, you say? Well, the answer, simply, is it can’t be *too* long. God Tier does stop the aging, as far as we know. And as long as you can keep everyone from dying or doing something incredibly stupid that mucks up your session, you can stay in as long as you like! I mean, the Beta crew were on a ship for three years, so I don’t see it being a huge problem.
Could you go into detail on how a page of space would work? So understanding of how jake uses his powers to create a hope field puts me off the track by a mile. Since hope can be transfigured into a physical vessel of divine power. Space on the other hand deals with physical objects in existance such as planets. Thanks for reading ^-^
Of course I could, dear! It’s no problem at all. I can see where it would be a little confusing at first, as well.
The Page of Space isone who inspires Space and gives it to others. They are one who grows through Space, and comes into their own with Space.
Space has to do with size, speed, matter, and creation.
So, a Page of Space would be able to inspire creation itself. Pages are a class of infinite potential, and a Page of Space would be one who grows through creation, and new beginnings. They would be able to inspire others to make things, move faster, and be wherever they needed to be. We see Alt. Calliope do something similar, by taking Jade to ‘where she needs to be’, which, is actually a matter of Space. It is the location, in space, relative to where everything else is. In a lot of ways, Space is the “where” and Time is the “when” of the aspects.
As for what you said about Jake, I believe a Space player might be able to do something similar. Instead of a ‘cloud of hope’ though, imagine a cloud of space, the infinite universe, containing stars and planets within, and using it’s power in a similar way. Almost like those cute hipster universe textures and memes that are everywhere now. *giggles*
I hope that helped you out, little Page~ Good luck out there.
A Bard of Light is one who invites the destruction of Light, and invites destruction through Light.
Light has to do with literal Light, Knowledge, and Luck.
So, a Bard of Light would be able to invite the destruction of Knowledge and luck. I would imagine this player having an ability almost like Equius, but instead of making themself invisible, they would be surrounded by darkness to any Seers or crazy green and white 8ball headed characters who might be roaming around. Their actions would cause the destruction of knowledge for their teammates or their enemies.
A Bard of Light has a tough challenge. Bards tend to be controlled by their aspect, so they might be controlled by Knowledge. They might be obsessed with learning, but only end up destroying what they could be using for knowledge. Their challenge is to control their aspect, rather than letting it control them.
The Sylph of Hope is one who heals Hope, and heals others using Hope.
Hope is all about belief, hope, and positive emotions/thinking.
So, a Sylph of Hope would be able to heal the Hopes and Beliefs of others. If you had a player who’s core beliefs were shattered by some event, the Sylph could help restore their hope and move forward. They’re a wonderfully motivating player, I must say!
A Sylph’s journey has to do with the spotlight. Many Sylphs will sit on the side lines, when they need to be making decisions and trying to lead the group. They need to build the confidence to stand their ground, and put their two cents in on important matters.
