i turned it off and on already.
hrseungjoonâ:
the caller id at this time of night (or day?) tells seungjoon more than he needs to know. pesky freeloaders off his technological knowledge who donât even understand that his expertise laid in software and not hardwareâŠwhy does he even bother? his finger hovers over the âdecline callâ button for longer than heâs proud of, but decides to give junho the benefit of the doubt for once.Â
in which he learns heâs more intuitive than he gives himself credit for.
âdudeâŠâ he groans into the phone, pinching the bridge of his nose. âcalling in the middle of the night aside, you know i have assignmentsâŠâ heâs at the end of his work week which makes his fatigue all the more intense. he wonders if the hyperbole is really necessary, but he relates to the life-or-death situations caused by technological issues. âyou owe me big time, junho.â
so he pushes away from his desk and lets his chair roll towards the center of his room, spinning around slowly as he attempts to help his friend. âdonât yell at me for this, but have you checked if itâs plugged in? or if youâre hitting the power button properlyâŠyou sound tired enough that thatâd happen.â
âwhyâd you take so long to pick up? i know you werenât sleeping,â itâs not the time for accusations, especially if junho wants seungjoon to like him enough to help him out here. thereâs a talkative side that comes out of junho when under stress. sometimes itâs good, in front of the camera for example when he canât have a dull moment; other times it causes him more trouble than he really needs.
part of him feels bad for disturbing his friend, enough to make him pause sympathetically for just a moment. but the moment is over soon enough and the pressure of staking his whole academic career on one video takes priority over feelings. âi know, i owe you my soul, whatever, you can fix this, right?â
he tries, he really tries, not to sigh with too much exasperation when seungjoon asks him such an obvious question. âyes, itâs been plugged in and charging for half an hour now. i swear i did everything i could think of before i called you. iâm not completely useless, yâknow.â he doesnât deny that heâs tired though; were it not for the pure fear keeping him upright heâd probably be out cold by now.
âcan you just come over? you can do your computer magic or whatever and iâm sure itâll be a super simple fix for you and youâll be pissed at me but iâm willing to take that over my literal funeral right now.â
perhaps heâs a little too dramatic.
