Panel Host: Lauren Otaku 

This panel is an improv/Q&A panel where the audience can write down scenes or questions they want performed or answered. 

For example: The audience may choose Kanaya and Gamzee to go shopping at a mall. The characters would then improv a short scene to that effect, the host would then maybe throw in another character like Mituna might be the store employee trying to help the customers. ect. ect. 

How auditions will work: Message http://crazy-insane-fangirl.tumblr.com/ with your Skype and list the character(s) you would like to voice. We will contact you and give you a date and time for the audition via Skype or message. We will give you two questions you can prepare for and another two you will be given on the fly. Here's who's been taken/ open:

Tis the season for giving back! This event is for all ages and get ready for some feel good stuff. A meetup like this has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. We will be giving back to the community this weekend by helping Victory Home Thrift organize their materials (after 11:30 we will be going out to eat at IHOP!) Why Victory Home? This Thrift Store is a non profit whose money goes towards helping people recover from drug abuse. They have a pure mission and have only used their money to help those in need and THEY REALLY NEED OUR HELP. IF you can not help out with the event, donations of any type will be accepted (especially clothes) *yes I know this is the same day as promstuck but its also earlier in the day and not everyone is going to richmond for promstuck* Feel free to show up in cosplay but please do not grey up!

I'm 13. Almost turning 14!! Will I be able to go to a meetup??? I'm gonna go to my first meet up

How old does someone have to be to go to a meetup

There are not any rules about how old you  have to be to go to a meet up unless the meet up specifically states something like “must be 18 or older”

The majority of the fandom in our area is between 14-20. The youngest person I have seen at a meet up was maybe 12. The oldest was in his late 30′s (he was with his son; but he also reads homestuck and is really great)

Depending on the size of the meet up, people tend to group up with people closer to their age. If it is a small meet up, people are very friendly and age doesn’t really seem to be a big deal; however, if you feel uncomfortable with being friends with someone who is much older than you, PLEASE let them know. 

As someone who is also old (I’m 28). I don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. There are plenty of people in the fandom that are my age that I like to hang out with and I totally understand if a 12 year old doesn’t want to be friends with me. However, we can help you find people your age -or- what sometimes happens is the older crowd might “adopt” you into a small homestuck family. We have quite a few “homestuck mom” and “homestuck dads” that want to see you have fun a meet ups.

In HRVA, most of the older homestucks are very good about meeting with concerned parents as well and we are very protective. Some of us even have children of our own.

Wanted: Cosplayers Needed

Battle of the Hemospectrum (Homestuck Panel for Nekocon)

Description: This is an interactive Homestuck panel between the audience and cosplayers. The setting is a Game Show between high bloods and Low Bloods. The audience will be encouraged to participate as a life line and help each team answer their questions. Each team will be challenged to answer questions in character.

Number of Panelists: 13 (1 kid, 12 Trolls)

Auditioning for all trolls (Alternian, Beforus, and Ancestors) selection will be made based on best auditions. Selection will consist of 6 low bloods, and 6 high bloods.

I will be providing critiques of auditioned parties if they are interested. Auditions will be made via Skype. If interested, please send me an email to [email protected] (or message me here on tumblr) with the following:

Preferred Name Age Character you plan on auditioning for (you can audition for more than one), Experience Picture of cosplay (IF you do not have a finished cosplay that is OKAY, just tell me your progress and send me pictures of other cosplays that you have finished as reference) Other ways to contact you: facebook/ tumblr/ Skype/ email.

Do you think you'll be doing any meetups or something? I didn't make it to Anime Mid-Atlantic, so I don't know any homestucks in the area. I've been searching for any meetups or groups or whatever, but I haven't been able to find any until I came across this blog!

We try to keep this blog updated based on events we come across on facebook. With that being said we are pretty bad about updating. I’ll take some time now to post whats going on! If you have facebook you can see events posted in real time here.

Meet-up at Portsmouth Mini-Con

There is going to be a Portsmouth, VA mini con at the Portsmouth Public Library on High St on June 27th (Saturday) at 12pm - 5pm.

I plan on doing free photoshoots for Homestuck  cosplayers! If you don’t cosplay thats okay, you can come and meet other people who enjoy the comic.

i do not know when the panel will be, i am shooting for saturday though so cross your fingers.
