Homestuck Anime Project Booster Post

Hey, there. New mod San stepping up for a minute or two to introduce myself, hope it isn’t too intrusive for this blog.

I’m part of the concept team, so my job’s been finished pretty early in the project. I haven’t really had the chance to input much else since the other things needed are outside my talent range or I would have to put in more time than I have available at a given time. We have a bunch of production slots open, and while we are technically making progress, there aren’t many people participating. If you or someone you know can help out, please go to the deviantART site where most of the behind-the-scenes stuff takes place and ask how you can help out. Another way is to reblog this message and send posts from the Project as often as you can, send it to people you know, get word out there, ask us here on the blog as well. We can’t do it alone, so please help us out with this. I’ve watched it grow so much, and I would really like to see how it ends up.

[Not even we know when exactly Episode 1 will be ready for action. As talented as our volunteers are, we are (sadly) not magicians or soothsayers. There aren’t any hints or secret answers to get out of us. Keep following us on our various social media, and I guarantee you’ll have up-to-date info on our progress. (Or, better yet, join the project yourself and help facilitate the process!)]

Is it distressing to hear that Team Frong (that other Homestuck Anime group) has effectively shut down and failed to complete the episode?

Of course our project is sad to see a similar group fall on hard times. Our HS anime project was in many ways inspired by Team Frong’s efforts, and any setback to trolling fan communities is a huge loss. Keep them in your thoughts and subscriptions; hope for the best. Either way, thank them for trying to give the fandom something beautiful.

Is this still a thing? Please tell me that this is still a thing.

Don’t worry. This is certainly still a thing. Progress is just moving a bit slowly at the moment. School, real life, alien invasions, etc. You know, the usual stuff.

Hey there! Not much going on right now besides a lot of work on art and such, but I thought I’d let you know that Mod Cinsarity has retired. She was a huge help organizing the group and keeping things on track, but hasn’t had the time to commit to this project lately and chose to retire and let somebody else fill her shoes.

We may announce a new Info Team Co-Captain sometime soon, but for now, it’s just Mod Renegade-Gryphon leading the Info Team as the sole Captain.

We’ve also had a few other members retire as well, including one of our screenwriters, a VA understudy, and others. If you’d like to see who’s retired, check out the team page. All the names are still listed, but those who retired have been marked off.

New composer added to the team! Say hello to Llyona Fang / DragonFang17. You can listen to some of their work on Youtube, if you’d like to hear the kind of thing they’ll be bringing to the team, or want to subscribe to their channel.

As a general update, we’re getting a lot of work done on the art side of things, so it’s very possible we’ll have something interesting to show you all before you’re all trapped in school again this fall (at least in the US? Think, early September, as our goal here)!

The new packet for auditions for anything sound-related (besides VAs, we’re currently not in need of new VAs) is up!

It’s simplified and (hopefully) easier to understand, so please take a look if you are interested in helping out with the soundtrack for our project.

We’ve streamlined our audition process for visual art related jobs! The original requirements we had were a bit needlessly complicated/strict, and we feel that the new guidelines will be easier for both those reviewing the auditions and those auditioning.

If you are interested in becoming an animator, background artist, storyboarder, 3D effects animator, or special effects animator, please check out the new guidelines!

You are free to audition for any and all roles starting now according to these guidelines starting now! We will not be closing auditions for these positions any time in the foreseeable future.
