What Makes You Beautiful @ Glasgow, Scotland
The nicest angel. +bonus:
there’s a nuance to ‘fine line’, an essence that’s conveyed through the lyrics and acoustic contemplation, that makes me think about the development of self that comes in your early 20s. about the loss of innocence that happens along the way to understanding yourself. that song feels like if you had every single emotion you’ve ever felt held in your hands, all the ugly, unwanted ones, all of the nights spent alone, all of the not good enoughs & the maybe next times. right next to every beautiful moment of pure happiness, every joy so bright that it brought you to tears, every laugh shared with a loved one, every painted sunrise and sunset. that song has griped my heart since the first time i heard it because it seems to look at all of that emotion, all of that development of self, and not judge it. it seems to simply say: here’s all of you. every loss, every triumph, every facet. you’ve grown & are becoming ok with all of it. there’s love here. there’s love for you. we’ll be alright.
