Noelle found a pout on her lips when he grabbed the bottle from her and crossed her arms over her chest to show her frustration. She was determined to get wasted and him holding the bottle was not effective for her, but she had to admit that she was feeling a bit drunk. A smirk came to her lips as she looked over at him and slowly reached over to take the bottle away. “I have an idea,” she started, taking another swig from the bottle before placing it on the coffee table. “I think we should play a game. Winner gets whatever they want.” She paused to walk over to the kitchen and grab a box of playing cards, walking back over with them in her hand and sitting beside him again. “Strip poker. Or maybe strip Go Fish, because I’m not the best poker player and I want to win,” she said with a laugh.
Chris’ attention was fully on the brunette when she suggested that the played a game specifically strip poker, or Go Fish. He was quite confused on why she suggested those games, maybe she was testing him for his loyalty for Bethany? Or maybe she wasn’t? He wasn’t sure at all. “Strip poker sounds fun. Whatever they want, huh?” he replied with a smirk peaking upon his lips, “I guess you get a free point since my shirt is off already.”
Noelle didn’t exactly know how to react to the shedding of clothes. Obviously, they were hitting it off. Obviously, she was developing a tiny crush on him. Obviously, she wouldn’t mind crawling on top of him… But he was Beth’s boyfriend, and Noelle had to respect that enough to get those thoughts out of her head. If that was even possible. She grabbed for the wine bottle, chugging down enough for her to become slightly disoriented before placing it back on the table. “I hope you don’t mind that it’s been a long day and I need to become fairly intoxicated right now,” she said with a laugh. That wasn’t really why. She mostly needed to kill the thoughts that were telling her to kiss him, to cuddle with him, to try to get close with him in any way.
As he watched the girl, the boy was a bit surprised on how well she can down the wine. “I don’t mind at all,” he replied with a chuckle. “you’re quite the drinker, aren’t you?” Chris didn’t think she had that in her, he thought Noelle was just into those fruity and virgin drinks. She didn’t even have the face of a drinker, he thought. “I just hope you won’t be as smashed as Beth.” smirked, grabbing the bottle from her and taking a few gulps. He felt a lot more relaxed now that the alcohol kicked in. Being in this state with his girlfriend’s best friend, who he was also quite attracted, wasn’t good. This was either going to be a long night, or these two would just pass out on the couch in no time.
Noelle let out a sigh of relief when Chris emerged from Bethany’s room. Knowing that the girl was fast asleep would make her life that much easier, but she still needed an excuse for Chris to stay around. “No, you can stay. What if she wakes up, you know? I need backup,” she said with a light chuckle. “We can watch a movie if you want. There’s wine and stuff, just don’t get to Beth’s level. I’m not equipped to handle two drunks,” she teased, grabbing a bottle and two glasses and heading over to the couch. She plopped down, patting the seat beside her with a large grin. When he sat down, it took almost everything in her to not curl up beside him. This was going to be a long night.
“Don’t worry. Unlike B, I can control myself. I’ll grab the wine and evrything.” Chris told her and let out a chuckle, walking into the kitchen and going into the cabinet where the wine was. He already knew where it was since Bethany brought it out every time they were ‘celebrating’. He soon ambled over towards the brunette and taking the seat next to her, placing the bottle on the coffee table. He kicked off his shoes and made himself more comfortable, by taking his shirt off. He glanced over at Noelle with an identical expression on his face, looking down at his torso then back up at her. “Oh yeah, hope you don’t mind I do this? It’s been sort of a long day, ha.” He was lying, the boy just wanted to see how she would react. They were finally alone, well Bethany was in the other room but she was practically stone cold dead. It was just him and her, no one else around them like at the bar.

Noelle couldn’t help but admire the way that Chris handled Bethany. She wasn’t entirely sure why she kept admiring different things about him, but she kept it to herself. Making a drunk Bethany mad would be stupid, after all. “Um, yeah, or you can sit with her. Up to you,” she replied, a soft smile being sent his way in a sort of thank you. She stayed by his side as they made their way over to the car and made sure to open the door so he could properly situate Bethany inside. She was starting to get nervous and she was almost sure it was because she knew Bethany would pass out as soon as they got into the dorm, and she wanted Chris to stay with her just in case Beth woke up. She also knew that it could end with her showing an obvious interest in him and fucking everything up. “Thank you a lot for this, by the way. You’re a good boyfriend.”
As much as he thought it’d be a bad idea for him to stay since it was just Noelle, well and Beth too except she only wakes up to vomit or to use the restroom. Otherwise, she was a late riser the night after. He set his girlfriend neatly on her own bed, removing her shoes and placing them aside on the floor. After he quickly pecked her forehead, Chris quietly stepped away from her and turned his attention to Noelle. “I know I am, thank you.” he joked, chuckling then shaking his head. “So, um, I could go if you want me to? Or stay, y’know?” he whispered to her, hoping she’d ask him to stay. He really enjoyed talking to Noelle, and having her company. It was just something she had that Bethany didn’t. And he hated admitting that, but it was true to him.
Noelle couldn’t exactly say that she was surprised by Bethany. After all, it was hard to be surprised by a girl who was so predictable. Nevertheless, she wanted to make sure she got her friend home safely, so she hopped off her stool with a sigh. “I think it’s time to go home, yeah?” She said with a small chuckle, more to keep herself from freaking out than anything. As she bent down to try to pick Bethany up, she looked up at Chris and flashed him a look of concern. “I’m sorry. Do you want to help me carry her back to the dorm?” She was starting to see a spark in Chris and with Bethany as her best friend, she knew that was the worst thing that could happen. So, in a way, this incident helped all three of them, even if it also sucked.
Chris got off of his seat, nodding as he gently grabbed his girlfriend away from the other girl. He made sure Beth looked comfortable in his arms before walking off towards the exit, also making sure Noelle was behind him and catching up. “Off to your dorm?” He asked as they finally stepped out of the bar with a warm grin forming upon his lips. “I’m guessing I’ll have to drive while you help out Beth in the back, right?” He sort of felt bummed once Bethany crashed their little conversation with her vom, he was really enjoying it. Chris thought she was very, very interesting, maybe even a little bit more interesting than Bethany which he didn’t know if it was a bad thing or not. He knew he couldn’t try anything with Noelle, even just a small meaningless line. Why do the girls Chris is actually interested in always come into his life at the wrong time?
“Maybe you could have made it to the Patriots. Dream big, Chris. Dream big,” she half teased, returning his smirk with one of her own and an added wink. When she entered the bar, she didn’t even imagine enjoying her best friend’s boyfriend’s company this much. But here she was, having more fun than she had planned to - without her best friend around. She turned her body to face his on the bar stool, crossing her legs. “So they didn’t even know until you left. Wow. Parents are weird. Like, everyone says they’ll support their kid no matter what, but I think everyone also has a clear path as to where they want to see their kid go. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just funny,” she explained with a shrug. “Enough getting deep, huh? I’ll get my own drinks if she’s not coming back,” she sighed, wiggling in her seat out of pure impatience before letting him have her undivided attention once more. “Yeah, just let me know when the next game is on and I will be over. I’ll even bring popcorn or chips or whatever you men eat while the game is on.”
Chris let out a soft chuckle before mentioning, “You know the Patriots happen to be my favorite team.” He couldn’t lie, he thought Noelle was attractive. Maybe even up to Bethany’s level, but he knew he couldn’t admit it because she was his girlfriend’s best friend. The boy shook those thoughts out of his head and kept his attention back on her, nodding along to what she spoke. After a few minutes of the two getting to know each other, there came a very tipsy Bethany stumbling towards their table. Chris’ face grew concerned at his girlfriend and before he knew it, she had puked all over the table and was face flat on the floor in the middle of the bar. “Oh Beth...” he mumbled through his sigh as he looked away from her vomit.
“Oh, no way! You don’t look like a football player. I used to play soccer, but that was a while ago. I also took up dance after that for a few years, but that wasn’t for me either. I never found my niche in sports, so I just stopped and now I’m a lazy bum,” she half joked, laughing. Hearing him talk about his own major allowed Noelle to loosen up a tad. Not that she even noticed how tense she really was. It also made her forget that they were waiting for Beth, at least for the moment. “Hey, I don’t think that’s true. If you’re majoring in something you love, you can always find something to do with it. Better than being an accountant forever, right?” A smile reformed on her lips as her eyes focused on his face and expressions. “Oh no, football is not my thing,” she said, shaking her head. “I mean, I’ll watch it, but I don’t fully understand it. I wish I did though.”
“I’m sorta over the whole football player thing, that was like five years ago. Wow, you did soccer and dance huh? That’s quite impressive, Noelle.” Chris half smirked at the brunette. Their sort of awkward conversation had loosened up a bit which was good, he thought that this would consist of awkward stares and small talk. Getting to know Noelle was actually quite engaging for him, a lot of the times he and his girlfriend’s friends would talk about the person he’s dating. A moment ago, both were probably just were wondering what was taking Beth so long, but now the boy’s attention was on her and getting to know her. “Yeah, my parents wanted me to major in something that involved business and such, but before I left Boston I told them that I was actually studying something way different.” the boy replied, softly chuckling. He nodded, “Ah I would’ve guessed you weren’t the football playing type, but maybe we can watch a game together and I’ll help you understand it?”
Noelle was about ready to order her own drink. Where even was Beth? She somehow found the focus to concentrate on what he was saying while looking for her friend. She wasn’t too worried about it. It was a Beth thing, after all. The brunette tuned back into the conversation fully, smiling and nodding towards him as he finished speaking. “Boston, huh? So you’re a Red Sox fan or what?” She teased, laughing softly. “I actually graduate from uni in May. Finally. I am majoring in mass communications and have no idea what I plan to do with that, but I guess I have to figure it out, right?” She realized she was getting a little too deep and stopped herself, shaking her head. “Anyways, I’m from Michigan. So that’s me, I guess.”
Chris let out a quiet sigh to himself as he looked around the bar then quickly glanced back at Noelle. Letting out another chuckle, “Nah, I’m not that much into baseball. I’m more of a football guy, I was on the JV football team in my high school during my ninth year. Although, I quit after that year.” he told her before noticing that he was rambling on then deciding to shut up. He guessed that Beth was either actually taking a long time, taking her time or just watching them from afar, it was Beth after all. Chris couldn’t help but leave a warm grin upon his face, hearing the girl talk about her major. “I know how you feel, I have no idea what I’m going to do after college if we’re being honest.” he said with a small shrug following it. “And my parents are always telling me that I’m going nowhere with creative writing.” Chris mentioned as he shook his head which he couldn’t lie, it was probably true. “Michigan, cool. I’m guessing you’re a Wolverines fan, huh? — Just kidding, who even knows the Wolverines?”
Noelle tried her best to relax her posture, as it was probably clear to him that she was slightly uncomfortable. After all, she had to be protective over Bethany. That was her job as best friend. “Nice to meet you too,” she said softly, a smile poking out at the corners of her lips. “Yeah, Beth loves to talk about people. Not in a bad way… mostly.” She let out a nervous chuckle, her eyes scanning the bar to see where her friend had gone. “I’ve also heard a lot about you. Probably everything, if we’re being honest. You make her happy,” she said with a nod, her eyes focusing back on him. “But anyways, why don’t you tell me about yourself?”
Chris wasn’t going to lie, he thought that he was doing a pretty great job at wooing the girl. He just hoped she at least approved of him, he actually really liked Bethany. She wasn’t like other girls he had been with, and there were ton of them. Chris nodded as he listened to Noelle speak, letting out a soft chuckle. “Yeah, we can agree on that about her.” he agreed, thinking that this was pretty easy. Thankfully, Noelle wasn’t one of those girls who was always such a hard ass towards him, he could never deal with them. “Myself? Well, I go to UNI and major in creative writing. And, erm, I moved to here from Boston. Nothing too interesting, but what about you? What do you do?” Chris replied to her, wondering how many drinks Beth had ordered because it wouldn’t have taken this long.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, erm, Noelle.” Christopher started with a sweet grin, looking over at the girl. He tried to sound as impressive to her as ever, which he knew he’d probably fail at. “I’m Chris.” As the two sat in the somewhat crowded bar, Bethany had gone off and went to buy a couple of drinks for the three. He had to admit, meeting his girlfriend’s best friend wasn’t something that he always did but Beth begged him for days to and of course, Chris agreed to it just to make her happy. “Bethany’s told me a lot about you, she sure likes talking about her friends.” he mentioned, lightly tapping the table with his fingers.
That sounds perfect. It’s better to get to know each other out of the way of fans and paparazzi, or whatever lurks out there. I would probably forget to vlog it. After all, the “sexy Harry Styles” is going to be all mine for a night. Why would I ever show that to the world? Although, you’re right. I’d get tons of views. Maybe we could vlog it and make you your own channel to put it on.
All yours for the night huh? That can go in many, many different ways y’know? That sounds wonderful, Zoe. I can grab a box of pizza on my way to your flat and make it there by 7? I think hanging on the couch and stuffing our tummies is a great idea, love. My own channel? I don’t know, I personally think I’d make a terrible YouTuber. No one would even want to watch my videos, you’d probably have to help me with everything.
Yeah, just you and me. No stupid complications or boyfriends. I’ll even take you on a very public date, if that’s what you want. Or I can just order in food and we can hang out on the couch or something?
Yeah, just you and me. No more drama and pressure in our thing going on here. No, I think I’d prefer to stay in y’know? I wouldn't want our first, official date to be very public. Of course you can vlog it, I think that's what their called, right? If you want to and you can even title it, “My Amazing Date with the Sexy, Harry Styles.” I think that'd get you tons of views, just saying.
Yeah, I feel the same. It just became a lot and really fast. But hey, you never know. We would just have to slow it down, I guess. Harry, that’s… really sweet. Maybe trying it again wouldn’t be so bad…
You still like me? Well, I still like you too. So you're saying you would try, y'know with me again? That's great. It really is, Zoe, thank you. Let's make things the right way this time okay? Do things the proper way?
Harry immediately came bounding up to me asked me my name, gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and asked if i’d like a drink or a chocolate bar from the fridge. (x)
One who’s sleepy, duhh. That doesn’t mean it was your fault. It was scary, I’ll admit. I mean, it’s still scary. I just think that… maybe you wouldn’t trust me? I did cheat with you. I wouldn’t cheat on you, but maybe you’d think so. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Was getting there?
I guess, you're right. Well yeah, it was getting there. I'm going to have to admit, I liked what we had and I sorta wished it never ended. It'll probably never happen again, maybe. And, I know it happened only for a short while but I guess you could say that you've had me wrapped around your finger... Wow, I really don't know how to put it in a less cheesy way to tell you this.
