Lately I haven’t been as active as I usually am on my tumblr account. I’m not leaving the site, but lemme explain.

My account consists of mainly 5sos blogs or 5sos centered posts, and although there isn’t anything wrong with that, I have felt that I cannot post about many of my other interests, which makes me not post as much when my attention is shifted from 5sos and their content. Do I still love 5sos? Fuck yeah I do. I’m still going to post a shit ton about them, but rn the amount of content I am avidly consuming from my other interests is over taking that of 5sos.

So I’m going to stop restricting what I post. If a random post about a random tv show or artist pops up within all the 5sos, just ignore it I guess.

I’d just like to say that Want You Back by 5SOS and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart by the Backstreet boys which came out at the same time have the exact same chords in the exact same progression, and no one flipped shit over that.

Music always sounds the same. TALK TO ANY FUCKING ARTIST WHO USES THE 1, 5, 6, 4 PROGRESSION. C, G, A minor, AND F. Thank you. This is what I was looking for. I know nothing about music or progressions or melodies but I can listen with these two ears the universe gave me and those two beginnings, dispite being similar in structure are indeed different from each other. A music ignorant like me can hear that.

Just to add to the conversation, the Portuguese popular music world is filled to the brim with exactly the same songs, and when I say exactly I mean exactly, like some similar than Creep by Radiohead and Lana Del Rey's Get Free, and certainly more similar than the beginnings of White Shadows and Youngblood, and nobody is suing nobody because people know that that structure, those lyrics and those melodies sell like hot buns in the morning.

Also that part where in the article reads "In a statement from White Shadows LLC's lawyers Davidson Sheen, it's claimed that 5 Seconds Of Summer were "pressed for time and facing the prospect of commercial irrelevancy" prior to Youngblood's release." made me laugh. When were 5SOS ever on the brink of irrelevancy? I mean... smh.

What truly blows my mind about this situation is the time allotted between Youngblood’s release and the filing of this suit.

If there were actual grounds to this case and if the artist truly cared about the ‘misjustice’, why are we only hearing about this over a year later?

Youngblood has been playing everywhere; it isn’t like Henderson is just hearing YB; they waited until YB grew in capital and used a dismissive claim in hopes of gaining from the profit and fame of 5SOS and YB. I wouldn’t have ever heard of this music if isn’t wasn’t for this case, so I guess it worked.
