“Hey, so I ran into some Hufflepuff, and she invited me to get high with her. It isn’t usually my thing, but there is a possibility that I may have been sad at the time. I don’t know. For some reason, I just decided to go with it.” Gilderoy went on a bit, there were a lot of things Leena needed to be filled in on. “I’m fine now though! And it’s a good thing too, I am so much better at smiling!” He hated how busy things had gotten this year. There was hardly enough time to spend talking to Leena.

“I’ve been great,” she beamed, her smile partly due to the joy of running into Gilderoy and the rest out of shock. “Things haven’t been as exciting for me as they apparently have been for you! I didn’t think your smile could get better but I’m glad your feeling happier now. And you got high for the first time,” she put her hand on her heart and made an audible ‘aww’ sound. “- without me?” Leena had of course gotten high multiple times before, more last year than this year and never before a game or an exam - never again anyway. “Tell me everything!”

Mary was roaming the books in the library, trying to find a good book that would keep her distracted for a few days. Although she was usually busy, she liked to keep her schedule filled so she wouldn’t have anytime to ponder on her life. She enjoyed distractions, and reading was one of the best ways to keep her mind from wandering onto thoughts she did not need infesting her head.
She slid her fingers over the spine of each book, reading the titles. “I just can’t seem to find anything that particularly stands out to me.” She huffs, frowning.
“They all look exactly the same to me,” Leena frowned as she scanned the shelf for the text she needed. “All long and probably tiring to read. Why don’t you just pick a book at random? It might end up being something you actually enjoy reading.”

It always took Edgar hours to actually fully wake up in the morning and be a functioning human being. Focusing on one thing at a time was all he could really manage and right now he was focusing on food. Which is why when he looked up and saw he was being spoken to by someone across from him it took him by surprise. Glancing around he checked that there wasn’t anyone else they could be talking to. But there was no one else. He had no idea how long they had even been there for. “Wow that’s…crazy?” He said when they paused, hoping that was the correct response. Or even one that just made sense since he had caught nothing of what they had actually said.
“Right!” Leena grinned as she poured milk onto her cereal, not at all noticing that Edgar hadn’t been paying attention. What she had witnessed with Professor Kettleburn on her way to the Great Hall was too intriguing not to share with the first person she saw at the Hufflepuff table. “That’s exactly what I thought when I saw it. Apparently he got into a scrape with a Griffin, or a Bear - that’s what some of the students who were crowded around him said anyway. And he’ll probably have to wear an eyepatch forever now!”

Gilderoy laughed, “Aw, I’d let you watch me sleep if you really wanted to! I’m not sure why you would, but according to my fan mail, I’m very good at it!” He nudged her playfully. Of course he was joking about the invitation, but Leena was the person he was most comfortable with. Communication was a lot easier with her.
“Speaking of communication, have you been keeping up with The Insider? It seems Leena Shafiq cannot stop talking about somebody named Gilderoy? I wonder who that is, he sounds handsome!”
“Watching people sleep isn’t really my cup of tea but I’m sure you’re a delight even when asleep.” Leena rolled her eyes at the mention of the Insider, laughing lightheartedly. “I have. Apparently I can’t get you out of my mind and I need to find something else to do. Who can blame me though? I think they’re just jealous of our amazing, incomparable friendship.”
