THE second Ariel stepped onto the boat, she felt uneasy. She couldn’t escape the water, it was all around her. It didn’t help that she couldn’t speak to express this uneasiness. Pursing her lips she typed on her phone a small message on the notepad seeking where the rooms were. As she tried to show people, they only pushed her aside and kept moving. With a huff she lightly stomped her foot before taking a seat inwardly cursing her muteness. As another person came down the hall, she stood up slowly trying her luck as she lightly tapped their shoulder to gain their attention.

HE noticed the girl before she noticed him. Being shoved around as people hurried to get to their rooms and figure out where the free food was. He thought at first that maybe she was shy, which didn’t concern him much. She would have to speak up sooner or later if she wanted anyone to help her. So he kept walking, as if he hadn’t seen her. It didn’t bother him, though, when she tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, seeing the note she had typed out on her phone. His eyes lit up and his eyebrows raised. “Are you deaf?” he signed eagerly, knowing that he could be of assistance if she was.

Elsa shrugged. “I just grabbed one. I didn’t really pay attention to what it was.”

“Well tha’ wis yer first mistake. Ye can’t jus’ go fer the easiest catch, ye gotta hold out fer the big fish!” Hubert made a gesture with his hands as to how long this imaginary fish that he was holding out for was.

She dangles the bottle in front of her. “Guess you’ll have to drink and find out.”

Hubert laughed, “Well now ah’m curious. Scared, but curious. Yer on.” he said takin’ the bottle from her grip and setting it down in the center of a nearby table. He sat at one of the chair and faced her. “Should we make this more interestin’? Ah always think drinkin’ with strangers is more fun when there’s a game involved.”

“At least someone on this trip sympathizes with my plight. Everyone is so perfectly tanned and would just get more perfect if they sat in the sun for too long.”

“Hm, yeah, ah probableh could. Thanks, mum, Oh, an’ do ye have any suggestions of wha’ a good li’le boy should be doin’ with his time? Since, ye obviousleh knoh best.”

Hubert hesitated before answering, a concerned look on his face, “Tha’ depends, do ye get less scary whin yer smashed?”

“What….what…there’s…there’s water everywhere. For miles and miles and miles.” Rey made herself comfortable on top of a small structure. Nothing had ever been this unsteady, her legs wobbly but it didn’t stop her from standing up and looking out. “Feel like i’m gonna fall off the earth.”

“Well, at most ye’d fall inta the water. No’ off the earth.” Hubert said with a cheeky grin.

“No way, Jose!” Bonnie gasped, pretending to be appalled by the boy’s assumption. “I happen to like someone else, actually. Though I’m not sure if the feeling is mutual… My name is Bonnie. What’s your’s?”

“Do ye now? Well goh on, wha’s his name then?” Hubert asked, leaning in closer so she could answer in a whisper if she liked, “Ye knoh, ah make a pre’y good cupid. Ah could help ye out. Be yer wingman.” He held out his hand to shake, “Hubert.”

“Uh, a grea’, crazeh night with meh, duhh. An’ obviously a share of half the profits of our night.”

Elsa rolled her eyes, walked over to the bar behind the counter, grabbed a bottle, and walked back. “You said that like it should’ve been some difficult task.”

“Well tha’ took all the fin ou’ of it...” Hubert pouted and looked at the bottle she had brought back. “Seriously? Malibu? Ye chose coconu’ rum?”
