hello person who left a really kind message about missing my spamvil fanworks/fanworks in general. since i'm not sure you'd like me to answer the message directly i'll just put my answer here:

no worries at all, i miss those times too!

i miss when i was invested in spamton and jevil's characterization and had people around to talk about it. we all (save for a few) ended up drifting apart. natural, really. it's sad because i dont resonate with the new chapters as i did with 1-2, and rn i'm about as nearly done with deltarune as i could possibly be lol i still play the game and discuss it very privately now with some close friends. but i am fatigued of spamton's presence and jevil is extremely underutilized in game as of now, so (shrug)

what's sadder is that i clearly cared about these characters. i cared a lot about them. i don't really like how they're being handled in game (perhaps our vision is distorted by the wait between chapters ofc so there's that) and i don't like how they were/are handled by fandom sometimes. but in my artworks i have always put a lot of love and care (with a little of self indulgence ofc because god forbid someone have fun) and dedicated a good chunk of my time to exploring their dynamic + characterization and headcanons

fandom is just... very tiring in general. i think to ultimately enjoy a thing you have to avoid diving deep into it, or not interact with it at all. if you want to post art, hit send, run and hide in a cave. not to mention burnout when your hyperfixation gets you to draw the same thing constantly for 3-4 years. happened twice to me. not great

i'm glad the things i made while in the dr fandom have a special place in your heart, however! i'm really happy my fanart could inspire and be important to other people in more than one way. it feels like i'm closer to my goal, which is to be remembered in the future when i cannot. thanks :)
