BLACK WIDOW (2021)
idk who needs to hear this but take your fucking pto
Weāve entered Q4 of 2025, folks! If your PTO doesnāt roll over, start planning how to use that shit!
PTO is considered a part of your total compensation package. Meaning itās part of your salary. When you donāt take it, youāre leaving money on the table that your employers will happily take back.
Stray Kids performs āBye Bye Byeā by *NSYNC at the #AMAs50
I still havenāt recovered from how amazing this is.
Babygirl I know fandom history that you wouldnāt even care about
i know fandom history that even I donāt care about
Instead of doing NanoWriMo I will be doing something where I try to aim for writing an actual average of 400 words a day for the month of November in memory of Terry Pratchett, who as far as I know never thought telling a computer to write a book for you is a good way to hone your skills as a writer.
I LOVE THIS. THIS is the spirit of NaNoWriMo: to invent a challenge to make you write.
If I may add some ideas:
The 666 challenge: Writing six pages a day in a month (no matter how shitty) because Stephen King writes 6 pages a day. Equating it with the devil is to explain why it's shit sometimes.
The 420 challenge: Get high. Write 420 words a day.
THE OTHER 51 challenge: Write 51 words a day because, yes, Hamilton wrote 51 essays in six months, but that bitch was crazy, and you can write 51 words without feeling like you're running out of time.
The Fibonacci challenge: Try to write as many words a day as required to meet the Fibonacci sequence. So, 100 on day one. 200 on day two. 300 on day three. Etcetera. If you don't hit the number in the sequence, you can respond "DO I LOOK LIKE A MATHIMATICIAN TO YOU"
If you wanna NaNo your heart out at 1667 a day, absolutely do that. Enjoy it! But if start talking now if you're looking for a group who will join you and not try to fuck AI up its server-hole.
watching @nanowrimo within a single hour:
make an awful, ill-conceived, sponsored post about "responsible"/"ethical" uses of ai in writing
immediately get ratio'd in a way i've never seen on tumblr with a small swarm of chastising-to-negative replies and no reblogs
start deleting replies
reply to their own post being like 'agree to disagree!!!' while saying that ai can TOTALLY be ethical because spellcheck exists!! (???) while in NO WAY responding to the criticisms of ai for its environmental impact OR the building of databases on material without author consent, ie, stolen material, OR the money laundering rampant in the industry
when called out on deleting replies, literally messaged me people who called them out to say "We don't have a problem with folks disagreeing with AI. It's the tone of the discourse." So. overtly stated tone policing.
get even MORE replies saying this is a Bad Look, and some reblogs now that people's replies are being deleted
DISABLE REBLOGS when people aren't saying what nano would prefer they say
im juust in literal awe of this fucking mess.
time to put Scrivener on blast
Scrivener has made it clear theyāre riding with NaNoWriMo. Letās put them on blast.
So it looks like NaNoWriMo are happy to have AI as part of their community. Miss me with that bullshit. Generative artificial intelligence is an active threat to creativity and the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people in creative fields.
Please signal boost this so writers can make an informed choice about whether to continue to take part in such a community.
Deleted my account back in June. I've never regretted that decision.
It's been a minute since I've really taken care of my account. I should probably update my icon. Also, it's nice to see Tumblr blowing up NaNo like they fucking deserve.

The Palace Papers by Tina Brown review: 4/5 stars
This is my review of Tina Brown's book, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor - the Truth and the Turmoil. I don't know if it's considered spoilers if the book is discussing headlines. But just in case - you have been warned about spoilers ahead.
I donāt know if itās considered spoilers if the book is discussing headlines, but just in case you want to read it yourself without any knowledge on the content be warned: there are spoilers in this review. This book covers figures that are polarizing, so please try to keep comments respectful. I want this to be a place where we can share ideas without conversations devolving into nameā¦

A quick update
This one is a quick update. It's going to be a busy week for me, but I'll make it somehow!
I didnāt forget to post! I got distracted. Yes, that is an admission. My whole Saturday went off the rails yesterday because I thought I had time to watch a 3 hour Natalie Lawyer Chick video on youtube, and then time slipped away from me and I had to still do my groceries. And there was the migraine. So how are my goals doing? I did not write anything, last week, but I did make progress on myā¦

Happy 2023!
First blog post of the year! Mostly updates on Reading goals and writing goals, but there are w few other life things in here as well.
Weāre 7 days into 2023! Iām not going to jinx things and say āNew Year, New Meā. Am I making more intentional decisions as we venture into this new year? Absolutely. The plan is to make a post every Saturday, with progress updates on writing goals and reading goals. There may also be some other things that get updated as well, butĀ Two days into the new year, I made the decision to add oneā¦

2022 reflections, 2023 expectations
A look back at 2022, and writing and reading goals for 2023
2022 In Review Another year has come and gone, and it amazes me how fast time flew. Somehow between 6 day work weeks 2 separate Physical Therapy incidents and back to back vacations, this year has been one of the most creative-filled years of my life. I feel so fulfilled and satisfied, even if I didnāt reach all of my goals. So letās first break down how 2022 went. In raw numbers, I wroteĀ 5ā¦

A short update
All of the reading updates you could possibly want.
So I figured Iād give a bit of an update on things. I havenāt written. It feels like every time Iāve opened up a writing project, I just sit there and stare at it. Itās probably post-nano exhaustion, and Iāll be ready to hit the ground running again, come January. Iāve mostly been listening to audio books, after splurging on Audible Premium after being offered a discount for four months. Theā¦

National Novel Writing Month Summary
An overview on how NaNo went, and an update on my Quarter Million Words goal.
Looking back at November, itās obvious I learned a lot of lessons from July Camp. Rather than trying to squeeze my physical therapy stretches in at the end of the day, I moved them to the beginning of the day, before I left for work. This achieved two things:1. It gave me the strength that I needed for work, and it held up through my physical therapy sessions2. It freed up that hour before goingā¦
