Sansa is arguably one of the strongest women on Game of Thrones. But her strength is subtle, and not as upfront as the other women of GOT, that sometimes it can be easy to skim across.
Unlike Danaerys, Sansa doesnāt have dragons or an immunity to fire. The only fierce animal she had was killed unfairly when Sansa was only thirteen. Unlike Arya, Sansa doesnāt have skillful swordplay and unlike Cercei, she doesnāt have wildfire and cruelty.
She doesnāt have moments like these:
Instead, she shows her strength quietly, in subtle ways that are still valid. That still, in the moment, would be scary to go through as a woman and as a man.
She stands up for Ser Dontos in front of Joffrey and his Kingsguard. If Sandor didnāt back her up, who knows what couldāve happened to her.
At the Purple Wedding, Joffrey literally humiliated her older brother, so horrifically that even other highborns there were disgusted. I canāt find the exact gif, but she literally had to sit there biting her tongue while her older brother who had only recently died was humiliated in front of her.
Of course, thereās also the āmaybe heāll give me yours (your head)ā quote from when Joffrey forced her to stare at her fathers head. Again, literally surrounded by his loyal men and got punished for it. Yet, she still showed her bravery.
She did similar things with Ramsay. God knows what he did to her. We didnāt even see the half of it, just Sansa terrified and hurt. She said that Ramsayās little brother would have a better claim against him, causing Ramsay to get annoyed and almost loose his temper at her.
Thereās also this. She literally faces Ramsay after all he did to her, and sticks her chin up like a champ.
She gets soooo overlooked and itās ridiculous. She went through hell. Literal hell before she came to Winterfell. Sansaās strength is subtle, but is still valid.
(I probably missed quite a few points, Iām sorry lol, I had to write this up quickly) but thanks for reading.
