Oh wow.
Well I do too, especially recently. Itâs just been so cold, you know? And I promise to spend a whole day with you, alright? I think Adam is coming home with us for the holidays, but Iâm actually not sure.
It's really cold which is more of a reason to hide! A whole day? Really? That sounds great! -smiles- Oh really? Have you um.....told dad about Adam? Mom?

Iâm always going to blame myself, Hugo, you know that. And we get to go home for Christmas soon anyways, which will be a nice time.

Out for a Walk || Albus&Hugo
Nodding along to what Hugo was saying, Albus remembered how everything was last year. O.W.L.s really did take a lot out of a fifth year, he was thankful that this year was an in between year. It made things a little easier, but Albus just knew it was the calm before the storm. Finals would be horrendous and then he would have to go through seventh year and N.E.W.T.s
 A chuckle escaped Albus when Hugo suddenly remembered that he could ask him the same question. He felt a little better after that, a little less awkward. He didnât worry as much about what the next topic would be as he told Hugo about his school year so far. âItâs been alright for the most part. Itâs the first stretch of beginning to prepare for the N.E.W.T.s and everyone keeps pestering me about what I want to do after Hogwarts.â Albus shrugged, âItâs next year that I really have to worry about.âÂ
"Oh Merlin, N.E.W.Ts." Hugo groaned with an eye roll. "I'm not even past O.W.Ls and the thought of taking N.E.W.Ts makes my heart race." He admitted with a sigh, then looking back over at Albus. "But, at least sixth year is a calm middle, nothing drastic happens. It's a year to relax before you have to start studying hard yet again." Hugo said with a smile.
What else could he bring up? School was the obvious thing to discuss, but that discussion was basically done. What else could there possibly be? Hugo was never a master at keeping conversations going, or talking for long periods of time. He had to in this situation though, he had to or else things would get awkward in a matter of seconds. What was something Albus could go on and on about forever like Hugo could go on and on about spells? Then it popped into his head, the one thing Hugo himself hated, but being a Weasley there was no way getting around it. He was forced to go to matches to watch all his cousins play, forced to know all the rules, and would have to hear his family rage about the loses of their favorite major league teams. "How's the Quidditch season going so far?" Hugo asked his older cousin.
Spells are just great.

Nothing at the moment, surprisingly. I just haven't come up with anything. I've flipped through book after book, and nothing has come to mind on what to do. It's like my brain is momentarily sleeping.

Out for a Walk || Albus&Hugo
Were Albus not uncomfortable with the situation he found himself in, he probably would have laughed at Hugo and told the boy to lighten up. It looked as if the boy was shocked that not only did he initiate the conversation with him, but also that Albus replied. Â It almost hurt Albus, Hugo didnât have anything to do with that happened to his family. There were a scattering of Weasleys that had practically nothing to do with him leaving that got the short end of the stick because of it. It wasnât like Albus blamed Hugo for anything that happened.
Albus held back a grimace at Hugoâs attempted joke. He did often talk to Rose, not much recently, but he and Rose had a small understanding. He wondered just what was going on with the boy to make it to where it was Albus of all people who was talking to Rose more than him. âI guess you could say that.â Albus replied, running a hand across the back of his neck.
It always made him uncomfortable talking to his family. Were it anyone else he would be able to make a friendly conversation. He was good at pleasantries when it wasnât someone he was related to. When it was someone who shared his blood, it was like he became cold inside and needed to escape. He hated the feeling, and the hatred of the feeling evolved into a hating of his family and a loathing of himself.
"Um⌠Howâs school been?" Albus eventually asked as a morbid attempt of conversation. It was the best he could come up with, but it was a default question, one that keeps the pleasantries and avoids all of the tension in the air. Tension that you could practically cut with a knife.Â
"I'be been busy studying for O.W.Ls so I don't see her as much." Hugo explained with a nod, since Albus looked puzzled. Albus also looked uncomfortable, just like Hugo felt. Uncomfortable. The two were never close, even before Albus left, so to be talking now made it even more awkward. Out of all people in the castle, he just had to run into Albus, didn't he? It was just his luck. Just his luck that he would run into some that would cause so much tension in the air he could barely breath.
Albus then asked about school, which was a good direction to go into. It was an easy thing to answer, for both of them. "I'ts going good. My grades are alright. Lime I said, I'm preparing for O.W.Ls so it can be overwhelming at times, but overall it's good." He explained with a shrug. Now what? What could he bring up? Then it popped in his head. "Oh! How about you? Are your grades okay?" Hugo asked. How could he be so stupid? Of course you have to return the favor, ask him about his grades. Where had his manners gone? Oh yeah, that's right, everything he knew left his brain when he talked to Albus because he made him so nervous. If Hugo said one wrong thing, their conversation could go downhill, Albus could get really pissed at him. A mad Albus was the last thing Hugo wanted, he didn't like it when people were made it him.
I....
That was just odd. I really question Hogwarts sometimes.
Out for a Walk || Albus&Hugo
Albusâ mood deflated when he saw who the person was. The mop top of his cousin, Hugo Weasley. He was the most shy out of the clan that was his family as far as Albus knew. That was good because it meant that Hugo probably wouldnât accuse him of jumping on the Malfoy train as soon as he saw him. It also meant that the boy wouldnât talk to him. The hope of a decent conversation left Albusâ head faster than the wind could push it. It didnât matter how the conversation went, or didnât go, Albus would need to fly after.
He didnât know what Hugo thought of him really. The boy hardly talked when Albus was close to the family, hardly ever when the rift grew between him and the rest of them . Albus had always hoped that the boy would be level headed, though. Then again, he most likely held a grudge like his uncle Ron did, like all the Weasleys did. Just because he didnât have the bright red hair didnât mean he didnât have the red head temper like the rest of his family.
Albus couldnât help but stare at him as they grew closer. Would the boy acknowledge him? Call him out like every other person claiming the family name? Avoid him and pretend the happenstance of them crossing paths never happened? He was shocked when the boy stopped and cleared his throat. Held back a grimace at the impending accusation or threat. Wait, he only said âhiâ? âUm.. Hey⌠Hugo.â Albus hoped that his shock didnât show much on his face. Â
Albus looked surprised, surprised at the fact that Hugo actually said something. Hugo himself was even surprised he said something to his cousin, the same cousin that caused his family members so much pain. Grandma Molly would leave a seat empty for Albus every year during Christmas, in case he showed, which everyone knew he wouldn't. To see the heartbreak in every single person's eyes that was in his family, it was hard. Hugo was quiet though, he was the one that more than half of his cousins would vent to, he was the listening ear. He was the cousin no one really heard of at Hogwarts, since he didn't necessarily do anything extravagant besides blowing things up in attempt to make new spells.Â
But yet here he was, talking to Albus. Why had he even said hi in the first place? It was just instinct of his, he concluded. Saying hi to people you passed was normal, except for when the person most likely didn't like you, like Albus. Hugo wasn't really mad that he ran into Albus like most of his cousins would be, he wasn't one to easily get mad either. It took a lot to get the youngest Weasley boy mad, and hopefully Albus wouldn't get him to that point. "Seems like you've been talking to my sister more than I have recently." He tried to joke, but it didn't work too well. What else could he say? He couldn't think of anything, nothing at all. His mind was vacant in the Albus category, not really sure about how he felt about him, or what topics to bring up. The two were complete opposites.
In all of the six years he had been gone, Albus and Hugo never crossed paths. Of course Rose would mention him to Hugo all the time, and Hugo would listen, but never say anything. It was odd, that he had heard so much about Albus, but yet when he came face to face with him he had no clue what to say.
Out for a Walk || Albus&Hugo
Walking down to the quidditch pitch, Albus whistled a tune. It was the one he usually used when the sang the Hogwarts song. He didnât even know if it was a tune stolen from a song he had once heard or one that was just put to the words. The tune, though, was lost quite quickly in the billowing wind. He wondered if there was going to be a storm coming. He always got the best nights of sleep during a storm. There would be dull flashes of green light that was reflected off of the lake and if it was a great thunder he could almost feel the dungeons quake with it.
As Albus was walking, he saw a figure in the distance. He was too far to see who they were. Perhaps they were heading towards the pitch like he was, perhaps coming from, or maybe they were just outside to be outside. Making a spit second decision, Albus made is path to where it would intersect the person there. He needed a decent conversation today, and even if it wasnât a good one he could always work it off in the pitch later. If anything, the two would just pass each other without a word.Â
Hugo walked down the long stairs that led to the owlery, finally responding to one of his parents' letters. He never really had the time anymore, with school and then O.W.Ls to prepare for as well. Hopefully his parents knew he was okay, and weren't panicking too much at the fact that he hadn't written in over a week. Rose and him never hung out as much as they used to either, which was odd. The two siblings were usually always together, at least once a day. Now, it was more like once every week or two. Family wasn't seen to much either, none of his cousins. School was overpowering his life, which he didn't mind. What he did mind though, was the fact that he was getting distant with his family. The distance that was growing between him and his family, that was what he minded.Â
Thoughts were swimming through his mind as he walked back towards the castle. When he finally looked up from the ground, he saw someone approaching him. Who could it be? Who would want to be out in this cold weather, unless forced to? As the mysterious person got closer and closer, Hugo finally saw who it was. His breath hitched in his throat and he almost stopped walking. This was what he feared most at Hogwarts, running into Albus Severus Potter. Albus had left, he had abandoned the family without a second thought. Hugo wouldn't say a word, he couldn't. If he did, his cousins would somehow found and and possibly kill him. Hugo was the one to ruin everything, it was true. His kind nature and the way he couldn't be sneaky, ruined most of the Wesley cousins' plans. The specifically told him,"Do not talk to Albus. He'll hurt your feelings, Hugo. Do. Not. Talk. To. Him," year after year that he wouldn't show up at The Burrow. But as Albus got closer and closer, Hugo's heart started to race more and more until he thought it would jump out of his chest. Albus was staring at him, obviously not knowing what to say either. What could the youngest Weasley boy even be able to say? How could he even form a simple sentence? Could he even form a sentence?
Once the two were in front of each other, they stared. Hugo cleared his throat uncomfortably and stopped walking, looked at him. "I-um...Hi. Hi Albus."

"Don't know, Hugo, but I think we should stop listening to this. It sounds a bit inappropriate, whoever this Forrest Gump character is. But, this song has a good beat..."
