Anne Hathaway in Becoming Jane (2007)
The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who, above all else, desire power. But they were, all of them, deceived, for another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a Master Ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all!

Do not stand By my grave, and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep— I am the thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints in snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle, autumn rain. As you awake with morning's hush, I am the swift, up-flinging rush Of quiet birds in circling flight, I am the day transcending night. Do not stand By my grave, and cry— I am not there, I did not die.
High Score review: Netflix’s story of gaming’s “golden age” is honestly solid – Ars Technica
Really enjoying the Netflix documentary series on the history of video games. As a very casual gamer, a lot of the history presented is new to me but may be old hat to more experienced players. You get to see things like the notebook used to program Space Invaders. I also learned that one of the first gaming champs is a transgender woman.
Rebecca Heineman, who won one of the first formal video game championships for Space Invaders, said gaming helped her affirm her gender identity:
"[Gaming] allowed me to play as a female. I've always identified as a woman. Unfortunately, my anatomy didn't agree. So when I played video games, I was in this virtual world where I was mowing down rows of aliens and ignoring the world around me. It was the only place I was able to find solace and peace."
The series is full of these little moments that reveal a little bit about video games history that maybe were not widely known before.

Mr. Mulder, why are those like yourself who believe in the existence of extra-terrestrial life on this earth not dissuaded by all the evidence to the contrary? Because, all the evidence to the contrary is not entirely dissuasive. Precisely. They’re here, aren’t they? Mr. Mulder, they’ve been here for a long, long time.
