I recently just told my “friend with benefits” that I’m into human pet play. I’ve never told anyone before and he is willing to try it I’ve never really practiced it because I was too embarrassed I don’t really know where to begin there are behavior things for puppy and kittens how to train and punish and stuff but I want to be a vixen help please!
Hey there! Sorry to keep you waiting for so long
After doing some research I think I have some answers to help you and other vixen/fox pets and owners with things to do and get y’all in the right headspace!
-Chicken, Fish, Rabbit-Eggs-Green beans, Carrots-Melons-Marshmallows; give sparingly, brush teeth afterwards. Can be a good training motivator
*carnivores [omnivores since they eat stomachs and what not tho] that hunt and catch own prey such as chickens on farms, fish from ponds, etc [no red meats] *Like cats and dogs, green beans and carrots can make a good treat [or mix in for home-made food] good source of fiber, so good option for those pets who need to watch what they eat [vegetarians, vegans, etc]. Plus food the prey eats and would be actively digesting would be devoured once killed as organs are more desired by certain hunting species
-Things to avoid feeding should include sugary treats & junk food; red meats; most veggies. Always have fresh water available. No milk, sodas or alcohol. Sorry babus
-Vocal; shows strong emotions [alarm bark; happy squeals; “Gekkering” [A high-pitched, multi-syllable "gek gek gek!" noise made when foxes are fighting or when a fox is very angry] [“Vocal, especially during the breeding season “ 😉]
-Kiddie pool *Water; add some minnows† or some toy fish for a hunt *Sand; dig-pit to hide lil toys in to find like lil cloth mice or fish similarly to cat toys-Snuffle mat; hide the favorite treats in one and let them sniff it out! Foxes need smell enrichment-Squeaky toys, Plushies; again similar to those you find for cats at pet stores; crinkly, squeaky, those lil bird toys that make noise-Walks; similar to puppies, you can harness walk them~!-†Go fishing/floating; if you decide to take the minnow route with the kiddie pool, don’t waste them! Take your fox out to the river or pond and fish with them! Allow them to try and chase down some fish they see after a little bit of sunbathing while you fish! Alternatively go on a float trip and fish while floating, stopping occasionally to get out and swim about -Resource Guarders [foods, toys, items deemed “high value” to the individual]; don’t take from fox, but trade instead
“A bored fox is an unhappy fox, and an unhappy fox is a destructive fox”
-Very Food Motivated-Create a bond; give soft praise and love when they come to you; treats when applicable-Set boundaries-Positive reinforcements; foxes hold grudges-Slowly introduce to others outside of you and them; NO PREYS [duh silly]
Similar to dogs and cats, stereotypical grooming is essential-Bathing; Nobody likes a musky fox/vixen-Nail clipping-Brushing teeth and fur
Now, some of these would obviously work for other pets, like pups for example. The research done is based off of actual owning of a fox/vixen and reworded to help translate better into Human Pets. I also realize that this is more information than you probably wanted, but wanted to help cover all bases
