Benoit, Corentin and Arthur are the creators of Truckfly - an app made to assist truckers on their road and one of 15 startups accelerated in NUMA Season 8.Â
HUMANS of NUMA: How did you find out that one in four trucks is driving empty?
Corentin: Thatâs a good question⊠Maybe itâs a bit the other way around. Ben was in Brazil during his studies and he got into a minor accident with a truck. He was looking for business ideas and thatâs when he started to look at the truck industry.Â
Benoit: We started looking how the trucking industry works and if thereâs an Uber for trucks. It turns out in Brazil there are a few companies that are starting to do this but in Europe thereâs really not much going on. Â Â
HUMANS of NUMA: How did you guys meet?Â
Arthur: I was not a part of the project at the beginning. I joined in, like, November 2015.Â
Corentin: Ben and I have been friends since middle school, we were neighbours when we were, like twelve. We were friends all along through middle school and high school. With Arthur itâs a bit of a funny story. I did an internship when I was in the engineering school in New York for one year. Then I went back and I did another internship for six months in a company in Paris. Arthur was the one who replaced me for that internship in Paris and then he did another internship in the same company that I was in in New York.Â
Arthur: When they were just starting, Corentin told me about the project and he told me: Youâll see, youâll work with us when youâre finished with your school. Six months later we met again because I was back in Paris. I was looking for opportunities to join a young startup and this was the perfect fit for me.
