“You don’t need to, I can tell.” Nadia said sternly, her arms crossing over each other. Nadia was about to say something else but shook her head, “Just get of the body before it’s too late. If you want that is, I’m not gonna stay here all day to know what happens. Or else there is going to be another body on the floor and yes it will be by me, I don’t plan on getting arrested no matter what.”

“Sure... I hadn’t expected otherwise. You’re a witch, judging people comes with the complete package, I guess?” He rolled his eyes while he bend down to hoist the body onto his shoulders. “On it, ok? I was just checking if she had any company around here I had to take care of, that’s all.” She was really getting too worked up about all of this. “That’s still no explanation why you chose to stay here. You could have pretended not having seen anything and just go on, but no, you absolutely had to stay around. You really have a morbid curiosity, don’t you?”

Elena chuckled softly and shook her head. “You mean you’ll get bored and search for witches to harass. I’m perfectly fine with normal. I grew up with normal.” Sometimes she wished her life was still normal. She loved Damon and wouldn’t trade him for the world But sometimes she wished she could go back to a time when she didn’t have to deal with witch drama, vampire drama, doppelganger drama. She could live her normal life, get married, have children, settle down. Now she has to worry about how long she can stay around Mystic Falls before things start to get suspicious when she stays the same age. “Yeah. Klaus and Hayley are having another baby. I didn’t really know they were still a thing. But apparently it was a one night thing and now Hayley’s pregnant.” She tried her best to sound happy for her. And around Hayley it usually worked. But she couldn’t help but think that Hayley was getting the chance to experience something Elena never will. It made her miss her normal life even more. “What can I say? I’m kind of irresistible. Apparently also to originals.” she joked with a shrug, letting out a small giggle. “I don’t know what it is. Eleijah just likes me. And I like him. I admire him.” She knew Damon didn’t feel the same about Elijah. But that was just something they would have to disagree on. “I’m actually really proud of you. Also a little sad that I didn’t get to see Katherine before she got Klaus’ blood…. Is that bad of me?” She chuckled softly. “Apparently you were right…. You know I’ll never be able to do that again, right?”

“Ok, ok...” He had to laugh. “I’ll get bored and find some witches to harass. Correction taken...” He knew she wanted normal, just like he did right now. He also knew he didn’t do normal very well, at least not for longer than just a few months, maybe a year. He wasn’t normal, never had been. “Me too... too normal, actually. But that’s already too long ago.” He did remember it, all the expectations he knew he was never going to meet anyway. He shook his head. “Wow... I hadn’t seen that one coming, actually. Well... Klaus may be too busy changing diapers to be must of a problem for us, so it might even be something good.” Still... he could notice that something was bothering Elena when she talked about it. “Is that why you so want things to be normal? You’d have wanted it as well?” He chuckled. “I don’t think it works with all Originals, but I think I can handle Rebekah pretty well myself, but for Elijah... the man simply adores you, you know that, don’t you?” He raised an eyebrow. “I’d almost get jealous, if I didn’t know better.” She wouldn’t leave him for Elijah, that was something he was sure of, but he knew their opinions about the Original were really different. He shrugged. “Well... what can I say. I didn’t especially like the idea of Elijah killing me afterwards, so it was just a lot more fun than sit by and watch what she was going through. I mean... this time it wasn’t me who caused it. And no, I don’t think that’s bad of you. It’s kind of normal, I guess.” He smirked. “You will. If you practice enough, that’s all.”

“Oh yay, yippee.” He sarcastically replied rolling his eyes. “Hence why they are not allowed at my house. I have children around if they get hurt then I’m sure people would love to wonder why there’s a growing pile of dead bodies around.”

“I see you’re already excited. Good. Have fun with them.” He ignored the last part of the reply. “Children? I wasn’t aware the second one was born yet?” He shrugged. “And if you want to solve everything by raising them in the midst of death, be my guest. She might understand a bit better why no one seems to like her father though...”

Ignoring his comment, Stefan picked up another rock and threw it with a harder force, watching it skim several times over the surface of the water. He sighed and sat down on a tree stump, running his hands through his hair before looking up to his brother. “What can I do for you?”

He raised his eyebrows when he saw his brother do it again, recognizing the frustration that came with the action. “What’s gotten you so worked up?”, he asked before sitting down next to Stefan. There were probably a few things he wanted to talk about with him, but it was easiest to start with the matter that didn’t involve himself doing something he should never have done. “Inviting Katherine to stay over at our house? Have you lost your mind?”

“Not when you wriggled your way in my house and I have to be around you all day.”

“Yeah, just a little bit,” he said. “Though, that will hopefully be remedied soon enough.” He shrugged when Damon reacted to his explanation about his coven. “That’s the Gemini coven for you.” He supposed that most people might find it odd, but it was just life to him.

“Ah, yes, those plans to murder your entire family. Maybe you should talk to my brother about how he felt after murdering our dad. Or Klaus, after murdering his. Although you probably get two completely different answers, if I have to be honest.” He rolled his eyes. “Rather you than me, man. I’ll just stay at the sidelines and watch, probably.”

“Yeah, I highly doubt that excuse is going to work,” Ric said, shaking his head. “You should probably start coming up with some other excuses to try.” He shrugged his shoulders. “I can try, but I really doubt that I can do anything to change their minds.”

“Some other excuses? Like what? She healed immediately so it’s no big deal? I tried to make it up with ice cream afterwards? Ok... that was more of a bribe, but still... Nope... I’m screwed Ric.” He shrugged, not able to do anything about it. “Well, I appeciate the sentiment at least. And if I suddenly disappear, you know where to look for me, ok?”

“You killed her didn’t you? I thought you were smarter then this.” Nadia glared at him. “If you forgot it’s broad daylight, if someone sees me they would think I did it.”

“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. Why would I tell you?” He shrugged. You leave for one moment without cleaning your mess, and you get an annoying witch on your back. “Then why did you stay here? Just walk away, and no one will even know you were here.”

I’d pay attention to who you call stupid, you know... he might be standing in front of you. And it’s just fun to see you all stress out about being held responsible for something you can’t have done at all.

Frustrated, Stefan picked up a rock and swung it at the river ahead of him before sighing and running a hand up through his hair. To say he was stressed would be an understatement. He shook his head to himself when he felt the presence of somebody behind him. “Now is not really a good time,” he muttered under his breath, not bothering to turn and face the visitor.

“Seven bounces...” He had been looking for his brother for a while now, and he could have know he would find him here. “A new record?” He shrugged. No one ever asked him if it was a good time to bother him. Why would he do the same for others? “When is it ever a good time?”

“Elijah doesn’t live with me. Well last time I checked he didn’t so unfortunately for you, they will not be coming to my home. Especially with two children around there is no way I’m dealing with stupid witches, vampires or werewolves.”

“Then they have two places to go to, even better! I don’t care where you or he lives, just that I’m sick of all the crap happening here. You were the one having children, not my problem.”

“They might get distracted, but they’ll still kill you. I mean, sure Katherine managed to run from Klaus for five hundred years, but he might just choose to go the easy route if you disappear and kill me to get the job done.” He shook his head slightly. “Keep teasing me and I might just let them torture you.”

“I know. I just don’t want to think about that, ok? Still trying to find a way out, but I don’t think there is one but hoping one of them will slip up. The ‘it was an accident’ excuse won’t work, I guess?” He shook his head. “I’m not going to run. I’m not Katherine, and I don’t want to become Katherine. I don’t want to live my life constantly looking over my shoulder, so you’re safe, buddy.” He chuckled. “And now you won’t let them? Do you really think you can make them change their minds?”

“Though I’m sure Niklaus would love to see you dead, I doubt he is planning to put that much effort into killing him. And I would hope that Rebekah will make it clear to our brother that should he do something like that, she would never forgive him.” Still, despite hoping that Alaric would be good for her, he doubted that anything would make Rebekah stop allowing Klaus his insanity. “Yes…I was wondering the same.”

“That’s good. I mean, he has been dead long enough. As long as we have that clear, I’m happy.” Not that he would trust everything to go smoothly, but this was all he could do about it at the moment. He’s just have to hope Rebekah would be able to talk some sense into her brother. “Well... let’s just... end it now. I mean, it’s about the first time you haven’t tried to kill me over the last few months, maybe we should just treasure that and go our separate ways.”

Allison smiled although the smile disappeared when he told her about his own mothers. It indeed seemed as if no one in this town was allowed to have more than once caring parent. Some didn’t have any caring parent at all anymore. “I’m sorry about your mother…” It was probably decades ago, but she still wanted to say it. She wondered if, despite everything, she would ever not miss her mother anymore. “My father was never as bad as his father.” Allison thought about her dad and couldn’t help feeling a little bit proud, more than just a little bit. “He always believes that you shouldn’t kill someone before there is a very good reason to do so.” After all, most of the monsters were still teenagers. She was still a teenager. “I hope I’ll never give him one, because he won’t hesitate to do what he has to do.”

She knew that one day she would slip. She could feel it. Every time she allowed herself to forget about the hunger, she was closer to killing someone, hurting someone. “I’ll make sure it takes as long as it can.” It was all she could do, try to keep herself in check for as long as possible, hoping that it would be long enough to survive, hoping that maybe it would long enough for her father not having to see it. “I was lucky that I tried to kill the wrong people.” She smiled and shrugged her shoulders. “And I guess that having a messed up hunter family at least makes you that.”

“Don’t be. It’s ages ago already. That was when everything at least seemed to be normal...” When he still thought he was going to have a normal life, when his biggest concern was that he had disappointed his father again, when his greatest joy was spending time with his little brother. “People can turn out better than expected, I guess...” He remembered her fear, and he was glad that didn’t turn out to be true. He smiled. “I don’t think your father and I see eye to eye with everything, but for a hunter he sounds like a surprisingly reasonable guy, I have to say.” He shook his head. “He’s your father. He’ll find a way. Somehow there is always another way, even when you don’t want to see it.”

He was trying to hold on to his own sanity, especially because he didn’t know what was going to happen with the whole Hope situation. He maybe wasn’t the right person to give any advice to her, but still... somehow it felt right. He might be even newer than she was at all of this, but on the other hand he knew how it worked, better than most vampires in town. That was a strange position to be in. He just nodded. She had managed to last longer than him, at last. “Me, for example?” He could laugh about it by now. “Usually they’re a lot more ignorant than I was, so...” He shrugged. “Ah, you’re an optimist, I see.”

“No thank you. I think I’d rather drink their blood than listen to whatever reason they have for coming to my home. You’re the favourite brothers either way so really, they’ll come looking for you.”

“If that was always possible, don’t you think that wouldn’t have been my plan of approach usually? I could use some substitution from being everyone favorite pair of brothers anyway, I think you and Elijah would fit the bill quite well, actually.”
