“The loneliest moments in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald
“It’s better to write something, anything than to starve the monster. The monster must feed. And it will feed on your soul if not your words. Its appetite is insatiable. Write to save yourself from the monster.”

“You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage but He is building a palace. He intends to come & live in it Himself.”
— C. S. Lewis (via peterdwebb)
It doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t just close your eyes, count to ten, and you’re better.
It takes time. It takes strength.
Healing happens bit by bit.
You can’t slap a band-aid on a gaping wound and expect it to fix the problem. The blood will eventually seep through.
But it does happen.
You do heal.
One day you wake up and it doesn’t hurt so much. You can breathe again.
One day you may find that the anger doesn’t boil beneath your skin, waiting to erupt at any little thing.
Bit by bit. Step by step.
It’s a long, hard journey.
But one day you’ll wake up and realize that you’ve made it. And you’re okay.
