My New Promoset 09/2013 "Himmel&Hölle" / "Heaven&Hell" Ein mächtiger Samurai beschloss eines Tages, seine spirituelle Bildung zu vertiefen. So machte er sich auf, einen buddhistischen Mönch zu suchen, der als Einsiedler hoch in den Bergen lebte. Als er ihn gefunden hatte, trat er gebieterisch vor ihn hin und forderte er: "Lehre mich, was Himmel und Hölle sind!" Der alte Mönch sah langsam zu dem Samurai auf, der mächtig über ihm stand, und musterte ihn von Kopf bis Fuß. "Dich lehren?" spottete er. "Du musst sehr dumm sein, wenn du denkst, ich könnte dich etwas lehren. Schau dich an, du bist unrasiert, du stinkst, außerdem ist dein Schwert ganz verrostet!" Der Samurai geriet in große Wut. Sein Gesicht wurde rot vor Zorn. Er zog sein Schwert, um dem lächerlichen aufgeblasenen Zwerg von Mönch, der da vor ihm saß, seinen unverschämten Kopf abzuschlagen. "Das", sagte der Mönch ruhig, "ist die Hölle!" Der Samurai ließ sein Schwert fallen. Er war verblüfft. Dann überkam ihn die Einsicht in die Wahrheit dieser Worte. Er bereute seinen Stolz und seine Neigung zu Hass und Gewalt und verspürte schließlich eine tiefe Zuneigung zu dem alten Mann. Dass dieser Mensch sein Leben riskiert hatte, um ihm, einem völlig Fremden, die tiefste Weisheit zu lehren, erfüllte sein Herz mit Liebe und Mitgefühl. Tränen der Freude stiegen in seine Augen.
