We mods are extremely honoured to host this event – the first one ever in this fandom – and we hope that you all are excited as we are!
If you are a participant, please read the rules and guidelines below thoroughly, to ensure that the event is run smoothly, and for it to be a enjoyable experience for us all.
1. We will check in with all of you on January 2, 2018 via message on tumblr or email. Please reply us so that we know how things are going, and also that we can do our best to accommodate your needs (if there are any).
2. On or before January 19, 2018, email your completed gift as an attachment to the mods at [email protected] (Fic must be in .doc format. Art must be in .jpg, .png, or .gif format) OR submit to qzgs-events using ‘submit a post’ feature.
3. You can include anything you like in your fic or draw as long as
a) it fits with what your giftee requested,
b) it doesn’t clash with what they asked to be excluded. We will ask you to edit your piece if necessary (and we really, really don’t want that. Please remember about NSFW).
4. Timeline:

can’t sleep so. also watching the jikook traveling log gave me so. much. feels ((flailing
when they finally decided to live together the first thing they did was buying two sets of gaming equipment, complete with table and chairs (online, of course)
normally ye xiu cooks and boyuan does the dishes; against expectations xu boyuan can’t cook for shit and ye xiu is a pretty decent cook (su mucheng can vouch for that)
floor is not swept most of the time; the both of them are busy enough as it is and they just don’t give a shit. they wear slippers in the house anyway.
when they really have to do something (chores, groceries etc) they decide by rock paper and scissors. boyuan vows to punch the stupidly attractive smug grin off his boyfriend’s face one day. one day.
house is normally neat as they don’t have that much stuff. surprisingly less huang shaotian merch (he sold most of them to save enough for moving expenses) save for the figurines displayed in a glass cabinet beside lord grim’s. sometimes ye xiu would move them around just to mess with his bf
windows are always open bc smoke
one time boyuan tried to get ye xiu to stop by threatening to withhold sex but he only lasted for two days. tbh ye xiu would willingly try if asked to but he likes to rile his boyfriend up lol
su mucheng bought a lot of cushions because she likes them. xu boyuan is just real thankful that they’re not in hot pink
they share almost everything except for toothbrushes. partly because they like having the same scent, partly because they don’t bother to buy two of everything
the 'long awaited' sequelYu Wenzhou: he's a decent person, so he probably won't fight you. unless you insult shaotian. can kick your ass. will look very happy doing it. don't fight if you value your life. he may look like a nerd, but he is terrifying.Huang Shaotian: easy to anger, would fight you. talks to much while fighting unfortunately. bring your earplugs for a good fight. if you don't, you're going to lose.Blue River/ Xu Boyuan: pure cinnamon roll, too good for this world. i'm begging you. don't fight. he has too much to deal with. have pity on this poor boy. ye xiu is enough burden for one person. he doesn't need to be beat up as well.Wang Jiexi: fight him. fix his eyes. getting one good blow on his big eye- that's a victory. you will be beat up at the end, but it's worth it.Gao Yingjie: noooo!!! no. don't fight. he's just a pure boyo. under other circumstances, you can fight him (beating up a new rising talent is always fun) but you might make yifan sad, and that is not a good thing.Han Wenqing: fight him. you will be crushed, pulverized, and they might not be able to recognize your body. that's okay. to have your head crushed by his strong thighs like a watermelon- to be killed by that magnificent body-Zhang Xingjie: probably has OCD. would beat you up with either an extremely large book or cross. don't fight. he'd probably beat you up evenly- every mark on one side of your body must be the same on the other side.Zhou Zekai: don't fight. would beat you up silently, smiling some kinda prince from heaven. he's pretty much a professional model- he probably works out. even so, you would probably lose without even leaving a scratch on him. why would you want to mark that beautiful face?
You ship Ye Xiu with Sun Xiang? <3 what do You see their dynamic like?

PART 1: sun xiang’s character development*
before i discuss this ship, i feel like i should explain. why sun xiang of all people? lbr he’s hard to like, arrogant, and is pretty much an insufferable arsehole. and i say that as someone who likes him lmao
but the thing is, he’s young. as in chapter 1, iirc he’s not even eighteen; he’s still a kid.
sun xiang debuted at a very young age, in a nondescript team that fluctuates between the lower rankings, and singlehandedly pushed the team into the top 8 that year through brute force and skill. he’s practically the team’s lifeline; it makes sense that no one would attempt to put him in his place or to tell him that he did wrong. he’s arrogant because he let his achievement go to his head. because he never had to learn to be humble.
what i stated just now does not in any way justify his actions, but keep in mind he still needs the time to grow up.
and he does. ye xiu’s words to him (i don’t remember the exact quote) during chapter 1 made a big impression on him. after all, it’s the first time that someone told him that he was wrong. as is typical, he doesn’t think that much over it. team joyful flourish’s victory over excellent era crushed him in a lot of ways; it showed him what his weaknesses was, and also proved that ye xiu is so much stronger than him. and he hates it.
so he tries. for the first time of his career, he’s not the most important member on the team, everyone has their own share of work, so he has to learn to cooperate with other people and actually follow orders instead of charging into battle alone with reckless abandon.
it’s a slow process, but he improves. in one occasion he is even shown to strategise during a 1v1, using the characteristics of the map to his own advantage, when in the past he would have just charged forward immediately, prepared to battle.
a conversation between ye xiu and fang rui, chapter 1295. **
“this guy actually brought his brain with him today?”
“you were also a little careless just now, weren’t you?”
“yeah, i was!” fang rui exclaimed. “shoulda squatted in there for a longer time, and see who wins!”
“that ambush point should be clear as day to you though; you should have been more cautious.”
“but i didn’t know he had his brain with him today!”
“……”
PART 2: why i ship ye xiu/sun xiang
finally onto the point.
i see this ship as one founded on the grounds of mutual respect and admiration. i like to think that ye xiu eventually sees sun xiang as completely different from the precocious teen he once met in excellent era’s office. for sun xiang, it has always been his goal to surpass ye xiu, who is always ahead of him, and has a great amount of respect for ye xiu, despite him never admitting to it outright.
also, i like the contrast between their personalities: one impulsive and hot-headed but innocent and pure-hearted, another laid back, calm, and cunning. there’s the issue of their age gap (7 years) too.
and there’s the whole lot of history between them. the two users of one autumn leaf, all that stuff. ye xiu giving advice to sun xiang would be really cute just saying
i imagine that as a couple they’ll clash violently at first; there’ll surely be instances of miscommunication and fraught misunderstanding, but after they gain their footing, they’ll work extremely well. they just have that chemistry, y’know? they’ll be the two that bicker more than a married couple (edit: i could totally imagine this convo happening sometime)
conclusion: they are two very different people, but with one similarity: they love and respect their profession and the game.

hmmm this is really hardmy ultimate otp out of all otps is yelan (ye xiu/xu boyuan) but i like zhouxiang (zhou zekai/sun xiang) and ye xiu/sun xiang a lot too. as for friendships, ye xiu/wei chen/fang rui always crack me up i love them sfm

When he had first encountered Su Mu Cheng, Ye Xiu’s little sister - well, kind of - Xu Boyuan first thought that he would die of fear. It was rumored that she was a beautiful but terrifying woman, even considered merciless by her opponents. He obviously agreed with the beauty part – who wouldn’t? – but the idea of such a pretty girl being scary had made him doubt a lot.
