I don't feel like this blog is dividing the fandom. It's just a safespace where we can let of some steam. Would people rather have these controversial opinions in their pm's or in their fic comments? Fic writers are always saying "don't like, don't read"....well, it applies here too. Block this blog if the tea is too hot for ya.

I’m in the fandom, and frankly the way people have been handling reactions towards this blog makes me almost embarrassed. There’s a line between not liking something, standing up for yourself (which we should!) and trying to make something into this grand noble cause. I literally saw someone compare this stuff to Nazism. Like get over yourselves???? If you don’t like it then just block and move on. Not everything is a campaign of justice. Address problems and move on.

I’m really appalled by the amount of negativity coming out of this site. I have to wonder if you folks that come on here to complain have ever done anything with art (writing or drawing) other than consume it? Art is hard. Art takes inspiration. It’s brave to put yourself and your creation out there. It’s weak to stand behind an anonymous wall and tear others down. You guys really ought to spend more time creating and improving your own strengths. You’d be happier.

please correct me if im wrong but i don’t understand why katniss & gale are considered poc? yes theyre described as having olive skin but that doesnt mean theyre poc? i feel like people are making that small description of skin color into something its not, theyre just naturally like tan toned, theyre not poc, they don’t deserve that title bc theyre not that, save praise for actual poc characters

Never been one for fandom but I had just reread the books recently and decided to come look and see if the fandom still exists at all. After finding this blog I don’t think I’m gonna stay. Some of the replies in the notes just make me so uncomfortable that I don’t think I could ever read stuff written by those people and I don’t really see anyone else actively in the fandom. Really sad that I just wanted to see more stuff about THG but apparently there’s some clique drama happening instead??

I thought the current state of things in the w b orld would make these books/their message more relevant now so I was excited to come back to this fandom to see it get a second wave, but all I’ve been finding on tumblr is fluffy cottagecore stuff and then a bunch of really weird and inappropriate stuff with Everlark. I was kinda hoping to see at least someone thinking about/ writing how these characters would be handling the protests happening in America. Honestly makes me not want to come back

Will never not be sad that Madge just totally inst in the movies. She’s not a major character sure but her death is one of this thing that shows Katniss that the Capitol doesn’t care at all about anyone in the districts because they’re expendable. It takes away impact from the war and the overall story being told

Pro-tip for fic writers: try not to portray Katniss and Peeta's children as weird mini-me's of their parents. Obviously they might inherit SOME quirks or hobbies, but real life kids have independent personalities apart from their families. If you are unable to describe your toastbaby OC with any more depth than "they draw and bake just like Peeta!", that's a sign that you might need to write another draft.

It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when people dump every negative character trait they can think of onto Gale as a way to justify Everlark. I’m pro-Everlark too, but there are other ways to support that ship besides turning Gale into some evil girlfriend-beating caricature. Gale definitely has some VERY big flaws in canon but there’s no need to go all Ron the Death Eater on him ya know?

Dear writers fancasters and especially artists... Katniss does not have chocolate hair. She does not have chestnut hair or curly hair or wavy hair. She has black hair. And so does Hamitch! If you want to use movie canon, fine. But it's really annoying having these movie/book mixes. The worst offenders are those who have Katniss be dark skinned and grey eyed but leave Haymitch pale, blonde haired blue eyed.

bruh if y'all want good content then you need to support writers. Older writers are gonna quit and start pulling work and newer writers aren't gonna feel comfortable posting their work or even writing at all if this is how y'all are gonna treat them. No ones gonna fucking write if you treat them like shit and bash them all the time. If don't like something then don't read it or if you have CONSTRUCTIVE criticism then be fucking polite and send it to that writer instead of on a hate blog
