late night thoughts
i’ve recently felt this feeling of being a basket case. i carry a painful load of trauma from childhood bullying and abuse that forbids me from ever having healthy relationships. my relationship to food and my body has also been ruined by the forementioned things.
most days i don’t see the point anymore. i’m not actively s*ic*d*l nor am i planning to inflict harm on myself, but i experience these fleeting, always-there feelings of yearning for death. i call them my passive suicidal thoughts.
the chance of me actually committing suicide? miniscule. i’m a huge pussy and the little people i still have around me don’t deserve to be in pain. even though i have people around me who somewhat care i still feel this way. i’m just a body floating through time. i’m an entity with no future, direction or identity.
i’ve also felt guilt for falling into these pits where i let my demons manifest and go wild. in my head i’ve drawn out this picture of a pretty flower field with gigantic sinkholes that you can’t avoid or predict. the feeling of sitting there in a sinkhole, cold, stoney and moist, feels almost therapeutic. it’s calm. it’s knowing that you’re not running in the field with the thought of falling down again haunting in the back of your mind.
although unhealthy and crippling, these spaces make me feel warm inside. i feel like i’m where i’ve always been, what’s the most familiar to me. although the flowers might be pretty when you look out from the sinkhole, the concept of having to just run and run and never know when the next fall makes me feel scared and uneasy.

Me, stepping on the scale for the fourth time in one day:
Food doesn’t even taste good anymore. It just tastes like failure.
Especially when I binge, I find myself scrambling to eat everything I can get my hands on, desperate for the pleasure and comfort of food, but instead I just get stomach pain and nausea and self hatred.
You’d think that would stop me from binging, eh?
Has anyone else turned to their eating disorder as a way to help them through the pandemic?

Why am I just finding out about metabolic types and how they affect weight loss?
There’s three types:
Carbo types: Carbo types are carbohydrate efficient and are slow oxidizers, or sympathetic dominant. People whose bodies are carb efficient digest carbohydrates at a faster rate than they do proteins or fats. They also struggle with fluctuating weight but often have small appetites and a love for sweets. Dietitians recommend high carb/low fat diets for these types to lose weight.
Protein types: Protein types are fat protein efficient and are fast oxidizers, or parasympathetic dominant. People whose bodies are fat protein efficient digest fats and protein faster than carbs. They tend to be frequently hungry; crave fatty, salty foods; fail with low-calorie diets. Diets like the Keto diet are recommended for weight loss for these types.
Mixed types: Mixed types are neither fast or slow oxidizers and are neither parasympathetic or sympathetic dominant. They generally have average appetites, cravings for sweets and starchy foods, relatively little trouble with weight control.
I think that diets are scams and never really work, but that’s because not every diet works for every metabolic type. I don’t think that you have to diet and be skinny, you should love yourself the way you are, but if you really want to lose weight maybe starting a diet tailored to your metabolic type can help you lose weight while getting enough nutrient and calories (I know calories are scary but they are ENERGY and we NEED them to stay alive) to be healthy.

Sometimes I wish I was the naturally skinny and athletic girl who can eat a surprising amount and stay thin.
Other times I'm looking forward to being the dainty, delicate, and fragile girl who everyone is secretly wondering "do they eat? Are they anorexic?"
I wish I could just get to that point already instead of constantly suffering in silence while I watch other people living all of my dreams.
To everyone with loose skin or stretch marks
Don’t think of them in a bad way. Think of them as battle scars. When you look at them, remember what you fought for and what you did to get to where you are now. They’re a reminder of how much you endured and how strong you are for going on this journey
when my friend talks about something gross when im thinking of breaking my fast, causing me to lose my appetite entirely:
