People who aren’t panic buying and just need basic necessities
LITERALLY!!! the media is acting like coronavirus is a death sentence when 98% of people who get infected recover perfectly fine...
the danger is not that it's particularly deadly, it's about as deadly as the flu (not very). the danger is that it's super infectious, and CAN (like the flu) be deadly to people with compromised immune systems (the elderly, young children, people with health conditions like aids). stop fearmongering, and just wash your hands to protect those who are vulnerable / to be safe if you are vulnerable
also please be considerate to the ones who are immunocompromised! there are plenty of people out there where even the flu is potentially lethal, so they’re having to do double duty to protect themselves from COVID-19 until a vaccine is available.
i have a severe heart defect and the virus has already led me to cancel travel, reconsider an internship, and weigh options for medical isolation. yet i’m faced with so many challenges from able-bodied people at two extreme polar opposites: either full-on hoarding resources like masks (which can be vital for the elderly and sick, not as necessary for those with fine immune systems), or brushing off my precautions as paranoia and being careless about their own hygiene as a result (which in turn can infect others).
it is absolutely true that able-bodied people have very little to worry about concerning COVID-19! but with that in mind, please be considerate to those who are vulnerable. simply washing your hands, covering your mouth, and sparing non-vital medical supplies can make a big difference to those around you actually at risk.

It’s just too little
Spread the News THE TRUE INFORMATION
Health officals and doctors have been saying this. You’re much more likely to contract and die from the flu, especially without the flu shot. 6,600 people have already died from the flu (54 of them are kids), and we haven’t even peaked in the respiratory/flu season yet. A bad year can kill up to 61,000 Americans, per the CDC.
Coronavirus is a bunch of different respiratory illnesses not just this one (2019-nCoV). The common cold is a type of coronavirus.
You’re also very unlikely to be exposed to if you’re not near sites of confirmed cases, and the confirmed cases are being treated and quarantined. People exposed coming into other countries like the US, are screened prior before being cleared so it’s highly unlikely you’ll be exposed.
Stop feeding into the hysteria and allowing these media companies to profit off of it. It’s not a “pandemic” like the media is trying to call it, only about .00003% of the global population has contracted it. Use some critical thinking and do proper research and education.
