Day 6

So much driving… and another soaked to the bone day

Fjaðrárgljúfur was magical (also where Justin Bieber filmed his dumb “i’ll show you” music video - we only knew this because of viet lam)

Black sand beach. The most perfect weather for beach, don’t you think?

Day 6

After a sketchy night at the fosshotel nupar where I was sure the room they wanted us to stay in was infested with bedbugs (major bb stains on sheets) - adamantly downgraded our stay to another room on the other of the hotel free of bb stains.

Needed to get as close to Hofn which was still an hour away - and nearest lodging miles and miles away.

Northern fulmars everywhere on the road where the chicks are flightless - many run over. Heartbroken over the fact they cannot fly to escape their inevitable death.

Enjoyed the ice lagoons near Hofn - made us forget the treacherous drive from westman islands at midnight and bedbug situation.

Day 5 continues on westman island

Fabulous dinner at slipurrinn - drinks prior to dinner and post hike at brothers brewery

Tried shark - was funky and pickled

Day 5 - ferry ride and whole day at westman islands

Heimaklettur hike - thankful we didn’t die

Day 2 ended with a fabulous dinner at the fish market. Wanted to hit up this hotdog cart but was filled to the absolute maximum.

Iceland day 1 - Fagradalsfjall Volcano disappointing as there was no hot lava nor visible volcano. Also couldn’t see a thing on the hike. Also start of our sopping wet status that ensued the rest of the trip.
