You drawled on your thoughts as you examined your sweaty form within the large, pristine SM mirrors. You were working on NCT 127′s comeback choreography, but you were completely stumped at the moment.
You, in fact, are an up and rising dance choreographer that is becoming more recognized within the K-pop industry every day. You have been deemed one of the most innovative, forward-thinking choreographers with your outstanding results with different groups such as Seventeen, Itzy, BTS, and a few other groups that were especially praised for their mesmerizing routines.
That is why SM had hired you for one of their younger boy groups, NCT 127. But, as you lengthened your credentials list by working with so many different groups, your creative juices had started to wear thin as you had been inputting your artistic genius into every group you had worked with.
It was frustrating, but you knew you had to march on for the sake of your career.
That is why you were currently scowling at your deflating figure in those pristine mirrors. You had been working for hours, but for the first time in your field work, you, Y/N L/N, had finally hit a slump.
You sighed for the millionth time in one day, smacking your palm to your forehead a few times, hoping that you could slap some of the genius that you were deemed by critics into your head.
“What’s got our wonderful choreographer looking so down today?”
Your body involuntarily jolted with shock as you heard a voice within the empty room you were in. You looked into the mirror to see a smiling leader closing the door behind him.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in the studios with your members?”
You questioned loudly as you attempted to push down the giddy feeling that was bubbling up in your system.
From the very first day you were contacted to work at SM, you were firmly warned that you would be spending little to no time with the members during the process of your temporary employment. While this didn’t necessarily faze you, you did enjoy receiving opinion from the artist to ensure that the choreography fit their style, or there was no point to hiring you.
But despite what you were told, the leader of NCT, Lee Taeyong, had made an extra effort to visit you most days of the week to co-choreograph the routine together. While he surely didn’t do it for you, and more for the sake of his group’s success, it didn’t stop you from developing a tiny crush on the sweet, talented guy.
A faint blush occupied your face as you thought about him, besides, a small harmless crush was something you could get over eventually.
You were snapped out of your thoughts as Taeyong walked up beside you, looking gorgeous as usual. You took a temporary moment to examine how fine of a specimen he was.
“U-Uh, I kinda hit a slump today, Taeyong. I’m sorry.” You apologized sincerely as you directed your body his way.
“Don’t worry about it, Y/N. You have already completed so much of the choreography in such a small amount of time. Besides, I have something that might help...”
Your body relaxed from his gentle reassurance. You watched him walk to where he threw his stuff earlier, carefully picking something up.
You eyes widened when you saw what he held as he walked back over to you.
You gratefully took the item that he stretched out to you; you looked at it with fascination.
“Oh, stop looking at it like it’s some rare jewel. I asked Hyoyeon since I heard that you two were close.”
“You asked her what my favorite drink from Starbucks was?”
You gave him a teasing grin as you pressed your lips on the green straw, he seemed physically shaken as he watched you take a gulp.
“I-I, yeah, I thought you deserved it...” He mumbled while crossing his arms, glancing anywhere but you. Joy filled your mind at the thought of Taeyong going out of his way to reward you with your favorite drink. This was the exact behavior that had you slowly slipping into the black hole that was falling for Taeyong.
“Well, thank you, Taeyong.” You gave him a small appreciative wink as you took another sip. You walked over to your bag to set down your drink to get back to work, but a small voice had you pausing as you set your drink down.
The seriousness in Taeyong’s voice had your soul go ice cold. You didn’t know why you felt this way as he hadn’t said anything worth worrying you yet, but your eyes went doe-like as you rose from your crouching position. You watched him from the across the room, looking down to his black Converses.
“Yes, Taeyong?” You called out, more nervous than you had ever been in your life.
“Do you want to...” Taeyong continued, but his voice thinned out to a whisper that you couldn’t hear.
“What was that?” You said, now curious what he had to say. You waltzed back over to his figure, stopping before him.
You looked into his eyes, expectant.
“Do you want to go on a date with me?”
Your words choked in your throat, processing the words he just muttered. You looked into his chocolate brown eyes, being sucked further into the void. You became painfully aware of the thrumming of your heart.
“I-I, what?” Was all you could summon, too shocked by his question.
“Sorry, that was stupid, never mind.” He pressed his lips into a thin line, stroking out a pained chuckle.
He looked down at you expectantly; you bit your lip as shyness started to eat away at you.
“Y-You want to go on a date with me? Is that what you’re asking?”
He sighed dreamily, a giddy smile blossoming over his features, “Yeah, I really really like you.”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”
You felt elated, but then you remembered a crucial detail, “But, the company policy...”
You felt a few fingers press the bottom of your chin, lifting your face up to parallel his.
“You really think I’m going to let SM get in the way of something I want and need? This company that doesn’t care about me as a human? I really like you, Y/N, and SM is just going to have to deal with it.”
You smiled, “You’re willing to break the rules for me? Are you really sure?”
“If you say yes, then my answer will always be yes as well.”
Your smile widened dumbly, glee creeping from your heart to your head, “Then yes, I would love a date with you Mr. Bad Boy.”
“Jeez, I thought you would never answer.”
This was left behind in my drafts for awhile lol
