BLOG UPDATE.

new icon and new header.  ghostface has moved to @egotistikill where all current running threads etc for him will continue over to.  don’t forget to change my url in your thread trackers for threads with ghostface and all asks for him will also be carried on over there.  things will continue as usual on both blogs, it just means hopefully on this one i can give my other muses more attention.  depending on how things go, he’ll either stay as a single muse or move back here.  dbd / horror blogs can still continue following here, however, as i have other muses available here for that genre.  i’ll post a promo in a few days, but for the time being if you could follow me @egotistikill it’d be much appreciated.   do not reblog this.

i’ll eventually formulate a timeline for danny.  might even work on one a little tonight.  wanna explore specifics like philly because this bitch clearly made a dent and a half there.  on top of that, i wanna put some thought into danny’s kill count.  because we all know it’s obnoxiously high and if you’re putting him alongside the other ghostface killers from the scream universe, he has the highest count out of all of them.  primarily because he’s the original ghostface but also because unlike all the other killers who either were fueled by revenge or a desire for fame, danny is a serial killer.  he’s been doing this for some time and fully intends to continue undetected for as long as he possibly can.  there’s no end game plan, no “alias is the only one left alive” or anything like that.  he fully intends for ghostface to reach peak fame but he knows outing himself would end it all and he doesn’t ever intend to let that happen.  and even if he does end up outing himself, his alias getting the credit is enough, since no one knows who danny johnson is so someone like jed olsen getting credit for the ghostface kills has a bigger impact because the people in that area know jed olsen and are close to him / have crossed paths with him in some way.  meaning it satisfies that cockiness of “i was under your nose this whole time and you had no idea because i’m a genius,” without people actually knowing his identity.

BOUNDEDBYGRIEF.

         this isn’t a place she wants to be.  especially not now with a serial killer terrorizing the town.   it’s ironic,   really.   her parents convinced her to leave her college campus for some gap year,   just a year to relax.   something that she needed after everything that happened in the blackwood mountains.   if nearly being murdered wasn’t enough,   she had to deal with the media making her and her friends sound insane.   that they didn’t know what they were and talking about and it was just the trauma talking.   that was bullshit.  jessica knew exactly what she saw and what she went through.   but,   this was supposed to be a break and now she’s in a town with a murderer.

         one good thing about her trauma was that it caused her to become much more aware of her surroundings and the people around her,   cautious even.   though,   her mom liked to call her paranoid.   either way,   jessica saw it as a good thing.   it’s just that reason why she catches onto jed’s words.   maybe she didn’t hear exactly what he said but she knows it wasn’t what he was claiming.   the slight change in is town confirms that.   but,   she pushes those feelings down.   maybe her mom’s right,   maybe she’s letting her paranoia get the best of her.   especially now with a murderer on the loose.

         lips pressed together,   nodding faintly at his words.   ❝   maybe they just don’t want people to panic.   though,   if there’s a psycho running around town in mask murdering people,   they should know.   ❞

jed nods along, offering her a smile.   “ exactly.  I’m so glad we’re on the same page.   you’d be surprised by the number of vulnerable people there are in roseville.   the elderly ... children ... and to think the local school is still open ?  you have to wonder whether the people in charge actually know what they’re doing. ”   𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒  𝐎𝐅  𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐁𝐓  𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃.   can you imagine people losing hope in law enforcement at a time like this ?    he’s securing his fate, his future as ghostface.   after all, he’ll keep going for as long as he possibly can.  the less interruptions the better.   

a shrug is given.   “ I’ve written for countless tabloids.  you think the cops aren’t told to keep their mouths shut around us ?   most are stopped there, but me ?   𝐈  𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩  𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠.  I get the information, whether the cops like it or not.   people deserve to know the truth. ”   his index finger taps at the table, metaphorically hammering in the nail that is his point.   “ if the cops told us everything, people would riot.  they’d doubt the law.  like you said  -  they’d panic.  but don’t you think it’s preferable that you’re given the choice ?   I mean, if a loved one or god forbid even yourself is at risk, wouldn’t you wanna know about it ?  so you can take the necessary precautions ? ”  

he pauses to lean back against his seat, intently observing jessica’s expression.   “ besides, I’ve covered this asshole’s journey since it started in roseville.   I think the longer we try to keep his name out of peoples mouths ?  the harder he’s going to try to get our attention. ”

any good deed jed olsen / alias does is being fueled and driven by danny johnson.  he litters outside the local bakery in roseville ( cigarettes mostly ) and then lingers around the owner who will complain about it, leading to him being there for her and offering to help clean the mess up which then earns him free food and appreciation / praise.  he’ll mess things up for colleagues at the gazette without them knowing and then come along and help them out.   jed will also offer his assistance or kindness if danny knows he’ll get praise or attention for it.  while it’s also to gain alibis and help grow himself a positive reputation around roseville ( no one suspects your friendly neighbourhood jed olsen ), most of what he does is influenced by the attention / benefits to be gained from it.
