Let’s look at Myron and his household. (Almost) Every single peculiar Myron took in is powerful, I’ll just run a quick list of them.
1. Sharon – He has MULTIPLE peculiarities (He can talk to rats, has some sort of ‘navigational ability, and one that he keeps secret. Oh, and he also enchants his cloak and boat), as our God Mr. Riggs has confirmed, and even Ambro-weakened, he was clearly powerful. In fact, he was so powerful, that Myron actually took the time and effort to bring him out of his addiction, and we know that Myron is an opportunist and he just won’t waste his time (which he valued) on a runaway addict. He was also a Boatman, which is a career that would prove valuable in Myron’s search for Abe.
2. Mother Dust – She’s literally a Healer, and is worth having around. She was also an Ambro-addict, as stated by Jacob in The Library of Souls, and Myron had spent time saving her too. He even took the time to threaten her and Ronaldo, so they were clearly needed. He also trusted her with a Hollow, and not just any ordinary Hollow, it was the one way he could make his beloved Panloopticon work.
3. Reynaldo – He’s Mother Dust’s translator and companion, and Mother Dust clearly won’t leave him behind. For Myron (or anybody, for that matter) to be able to communicate with Mother Dust, he’d need Ronaldo. There’s something strange going on too. Ronaldo wasn’t a normal (he wouldn’t be able to enter the loop if he was), so he clearly has a peculiar ability. Since he’s able to translate Mother Dust’s words, I’m going to assume that he can understand things normals can’t.
4. Nim – Ah, yes, Nim. He’s clearly a peculiar (he can enter the loop), and is Myron’s closest assistant (I ship them, but let’s go with the canon this one time, shall we? Great, thanks.). Myron clearly trusts him, he’s the one Myron asked to hide the shopping list (Sorry, the ‘recipe’ to open a collapsed loop), and it was a very important shopping list. Myron trusts Nim with his LIFE, and that is surprising, since it’s no secret that Myron values his life, very, very much. What is his peculiarity, then? It’s supposed to be something special (oh, yes, very powerful), right? Well, apparently it isn’t, because he’s a ‘Man of Halves’. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Nim is useless, it’s his peculiarity. In fact, his peculiarity seems so useless, that I don’t think Myron would keep it around. I mean, he proved that he sticks with powerful peculiars, didn’t he? If Nim’s peculiarity is so useless, then he should’ve died by now, right? Wrong, he didn’t. We know he’s been through some pretty close encounters with Hollows. Remember when he interrupted Myron’s story by saying that he’d been in a car that a Hollow was trying to eat, but the steering column had gotten stuck in its throat? If you do, bingo! I mean, how could’ve such a useless Peculiar survived a Hollow? If Nim’s peculiarity was just as useless as it seems, then how could he have survived a hollow while trapped in a car, even if the steering column had gotten stuck in its throat? How had he survived so long, then? If we look at it like that, then dozens of Hollow-deaths shouldn’t have even occurred. Now, this is simply a hypothesis, but what is Nim, again? ‘A Man of Halves’, right? What is a half numerically? ½. What is the denominator? Two… The total is two. Then, what is the Numerator? One… One part is present, and the other isn’t. Where am I going with this? I think only HALF of Nim’s peculiarity has been fulfilled. Where is the other half, then? Has it already manifested? I’m going to assume that his first/fulfilled peculiarity is his physical appearance. Then, there’s clearly something he either hasn’t manifested yet, or is hiding.
