“That’s a question I’ve asked myself a lot,” she admitted, not sure she had even come up with one. It was easy to say but it was different if you were actually in the situation, at least that’s what she had come to learn through all of the reading she had been doing. “It’s like this balance of not wanting to cause more trauma than has already been done,” she admitted and took a deep breath, already feeling like she had said to much. “Delicate things take..delicate responses, you know? So I’m trying to figure out a delicate..direct response aside from bringing more pain and harm.” She hung her head for a moment before taking another deep breath and reached for her drink. “Thanks and, I know it probably only gave you more reason to worry but I promise you things are fine or well, they will be,” she added, feeling confident even if she didn’t have a direct plan yet but she still had a few things she hadn’t tried. “Uh anyway, what should I get Danny for Christmas? Has he been dropping any hints?”
Well, he had his suspicions about who she was talking about, but he also knew if he asked and was wrong then that might give her a whole new issue to worry about, and that wouldn’t help anyone. “Not really. The reality if you do nothing then the trauma will definitely continue, if you do something, it will end. Yeah, alright there might be a blow out, but the risk of something that could happen seems less then the fact that it definitely would continue” what-ifs... god he hated them. They had ruined his life once before, he could tell they would continue to do so if people listened to them. He also knew how hard it was to ignore them. “If it was as bad as you say, there’s nothing delicate about it” only emotions and relationships. Those could be fixed, other things couldn’t be. “You know well enough that I’m going to worry. You also know that I know Evie well enough to know it isn’t you, and really there’s only two other options” he replied softly. “Not a one, least nothing anything can get him” he replied, trying to focus on the holiday, though not easy with that conversation in his mind.
