The words were a sharp jeer to Robyn who had already been teetering on the knife’s edge of desperation the moment that damned giant Grimm had shown up. Now was not the time for a calm and collected politician, it was for the teeth bore and bloodied Huntress that needed to be out HELPING instead of being caged like a wild beast.
Under any other circumstance, any other time and date, a questionable woman with scarring and a clearly unpleasant demeanor offering aid would have been met with mistrust and disdain; perhaps even rejection at some given stages.
“I REALLY hate to break this to you, ma’am, but i’ve been on the rockier side of the law for a while.” Robyn huffed, trying to retain some of her shattering dignity from this strangers prodding. How low must she be falling that she was being mocked and pitied in jail by another, presumed, convict.
There was always a catch to these type of things and Robyn Hill was no fool to blindly accept aid from a stranger without first reading the small print on the matters.
“So, I am considerin’ your offer and it’s pretty appealing.” What wasn’t there to like about it? A Get Out Of Jail Free card that landed right in her lap. “But what are you gaining from this? I really doubt this is for free.”
Robyn’s mind first filtered to the political power gain that a favour from her would do.
Was this something that would come to bite her in the ass?
And honestly, would it even matter if they were all dead anyways because of a GIANT GRIMM and Ironwood’s blatant breakdown.
An excellent question, and one she had obviously prepared for. What did she stand to gain from breaking someone she hardly even knew out of prison?
“I think I have a lot to gain. Personal satisfaction. A slight against Ironwood that’ll make him even more vulnerable than he already is.”
“And, if you should turn things around and regain that respect the top brass once had for you, I might even gain some friends in high places.”
She then places her hand on the door to the prison cell once more, looking at Robyn with a simple satisfied smirk.
“But, if you’re that suspicious of me, perhaps this arrangement won’t work out after all. I’m sure there are other victims of Ironwood’s paranoia somewhere in this jail that would be more cooperative, should you refuse to trust me. I’ll leave the choice up to you, Ms. Hill.”
