something i’ve found myself thinking about a lot lately is avery and her drug addiction... i’ve never gone into depths on it, but in the main verse she’s already dabbled in most of it, and even though she’s found a place with people she calls family now, it still sticks to her really bad. she’s not as bad with it as she was when homeless and on the run, but the problem is more the fact that she has ACCESS to it a lot easier due to having money and having people in the same business as her providing it without anyone around her actually judging that. avery has a tendency to do drugs by herself too, because the high of it and how it leaves her in the end makes her zone out and kinda just. forget about everything around her.
she’s definitely got an addiction, and i feel like there’s gonna be a down with it coming heavy and hard at one point before there’s gonna be an up with her trying to step back... it’s definitely not helping her with her already festered problems such as eating/throwing up and how lost and useless she feels. it’s just an evil circle that she doesn’t know how to break out of to start somewhere for recovery

he finds himself frowning, though he isn’t sure why. when white bandages are replaced by pale skin, auburn reluctantly meeting cobalt, crow finds himself letting go of the sigh he’d so valiantly clung to. is he upset? is he capable of feeling upset?
❛ … nah, ❜ he answers after a moment of thought. ❛ i ain’t upset. why would i be? ❜ a tad frustrated, maybe, but not sad. he’s been with this man for long enough to know that when he loses control of his temper, there’s really nobody to blame. it’s difficult to remain calm when surrounded by a society as blind and vapid as this one. ❛ i jus’ wish y’wouldn’t fuck yerself up in the process. deal with others however y’like but don’t suffer in the process. ❜
FOR A LONG MOMENT, he says nothing in response, as if he truly hesitates to accept his answer. after a long pause, he nods once, already moving up so that he can head towards the fridge and grab one of the usual cans of beer he stores in the entire lower half of it. when he turns around, finger popping the lid open for him to take a sip, he shoves his free hand into the back pocket of his jeans.
‘ it’s kinda hard to avoid the damages... you know... with how the impact works and all... ‘ he takes another sip of the drink, then moves closer to his husband once more so he can lean down, brushing perfectly placed bangs away so he can lean down and press a loving kiss to his forehead. ‘ ... i’m fine... it doesn’t really hurt... ‘

there’s no sympathy in his voice, only a vicious concentration as he secures a large helping of gauze around his husband’s red knuckles. this isn’t a new happening, but every time it occurs crow feels a little closer to the emptiness lurking inside. it’s something that’s never been overwritten, just ignored in favour of other, more interesting feelings; his infatuation with his lover; his hunger for prestige and purpose; they’re all things that have stolen him away from that vapid anger that has been brewing beneath the surface since day one, and he intends to keep focusing on them instead.
i don’t feel a damn thing. how many times has he spoken the exact same words to the world? to his therapist? to his friends? if anyone governs that phrase’s club, it’s him. / @hurricvned
HE’S NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHAT ELSE TO SAY, watching the other’s movements with tired eyes. despite the strong cerulean colour of them, they seem void of it at this moment. is he disappearing into his own thoughts? or is he focusing so much on the familiar face of his husband that he doesn’t feel the need to linger on the heavier things? he doesn’t know why he loses his temper so suddenly; doesn’t know how he remains so calm until that very last moment where he snaps completely. with a deep sigh, the silence almost more overbearing than anything else, the man slightly ducks his head down in order to search crow’s face.

A HAND STICKS OUT, fingers wrapping around the other’s arm to pull them to safety and away from the speeding car that came out from nowhere. With a squint towards the vehicle disappearing around a corner, she sighs and releases the person, turning to face them properly. ‘ Are you okay...? It seems people are speed-addicted around this spot... I don’t think the police patrols here very often... ‘

Even so, he won’t question it. If Drew deems himself fit to join him ( in Jason’s experience, when the man really hasn’t been able to join him, he’s let him know rather fiercely ) then he won’t be the one to try and convince him otherwise. The pavement is crossed at a leisurely pace, body naturally nestling into the thick fabric of his hoodie a little more as the crisp air makes its rounds.
When the coffee shop is reached, the young man places a hand on the door, turning back to his friend to look at him momentarily. ❛ You don’t have to come in if you don’t want to. I know what you drink anyways. ❜
‘ Hm... Really...? ‘
ONE THING THAT DREW IS, is extra attentive of his group of friends. He always tries his best to make sure they’re doing okay, and somewhere along those lines he exhausts himself, never really turning to look after his own well being. Locking up has become somewhat of a normal re-occurrence whenever he feels the need to ‘’re-charge’’. When they reach the shop, he blinks at his friend, taking a last drag from his cigarette before he throws it to the ground, the sole of his shoe grinding into it until it’s no longer burning.
‘ I’m fine. I’ll be glad to sit inside and just enjoy that. ‘
‘ IT’S TWO AM, SHUT THE FUCK UP!! ‘

( It isn’t even far from their apartment complex. It’s exactly why Jason likes the place, coupled with it being one of the only stores open at such a time– or at least, it is in this end of town. Taking the elevator down to the ground floor, he steps out of the double doors and breathes in the scent of the night. It’s always easier for him to enjoy going outside when there’s no people or sun to bother him. )

HE GIVES A NOD AND A HUM at his response. The coffee shop is a place he doesn’t mind going, and in all honesty the time right now makes it feel even better. Some strong coffee at the moment will be nice to get down, and as soon as they get outside, he’s getting his cigarettes out and lighting one up, inhaling with a soft sigh before shoving his free hand into the pocket of his jeans.
‘ Rut...? Nah... Not really... I guess I just don’t feel like doing anything. ‘

( Jason decides to keep his mouth shut, fiddling with the ends of his bandanna as he waits for his friend to get ready. He knows that this isn’t convenient for the other man, but he hopes that, somewhere along the line, he’ll realise that getting out every once in a while is better for him than remaining crumpled in bed. )

( His hair is fiddled with momentarily before he slides his cap back on, adjusting the hood of his hoodie before beginning to leave the room, gesturing for his friend to follow him with a sweep of his head. Hopefully, this doesn’t turn into something too much for Drew to handle. )
ONCE HIS SHOES HAVE BEEN put on properly, he sighs a bit, obviously dreading having to leave the safety of his room. However, he knows it’ll please the other for him to come along and show some life, and who’s to say he won’t actually enjoy some of the air?

HE FEELS LIKE HE CAN HANDLE a place that won’t be too crowded. Spending time with any of the group is usually something he can enjoy a lot more, which is why he requires to be more drunk when having to face bars or clubs, finding it easier to deal with the people when intoxicated.

Eyes roll, legs carrying him across the room until he’s close enough to switch the TV off. It’s a death wish, that he knows, but it gets the job done. Arms folding over his chest, Jason replies with a huffed: ❛ Tough fucking biscuits. Get up. ❜
Despite the apparent cold delivery of the words, it’s simply the way he speaks, and the fact that he isn’t genuinely annoyed is clear to those who know him properly. ❛ Come on, mate. It’s late, so nobody’s gonna be about. It’s not good to hole yourself up like you are doing. ❜
WHEN HIS GAME IS TURNED OFF in the middle of a match, he would normally have thrown a fit right there and then, but finds himself surprisingly exhausted. So much that all he does is stare at the dark screen, controller in his hand held loosely now that pressing buttons won’t actually do anything. Slowly, his gaze turns to his friend as he huffs, moving the blanket away to get up and put a loose tank top on so that his sleeve tattoos remain visible.
‘ Why are you so stubborn... Geez... ‘ He speaks more to himself, muttering some other things as his shoes are put on lazily.
