you slowly open hyunjin’s room door. he’s laying on his stomach, one hand under the pillow and the other over it, party covered by his sheets and with his hair all over the place. his lips are parted and the moon light that comes through the window illuminates his calm face.
you on the other hand can definitely hear your rushing breath, your hands are shaking slightly and your heart feels on your throat. you’ve been having recurring nightmares, waking you up every night and you were fed up with not being able to sleep. so tonight after waking up you’ve made your way to hyunjin’s to ask him to make you some company but he looked so peaceful you didn’t feel like waking him up.
you turn around ready to leave back to your room, taking a deep breath and closing you eyes you make your way through the hallway but the images of your last nightmare don’t seem to dissappear. you can’t help the whimper that leaves your mouth and as you make your way to hyunjin’s bed as fast as possible.
getting under the blankets slowly, careful to not wake him up you lay next to him, the warm of his body comforting you more than you’d like to admit. you start felling your eyelids heavy and when you’re about to fall asleep, you feel a pair of arms wrapping around you. your body stiffness hoping hyunjin is doing all this still asleep.
“are you ok?”, his husky voice whispers on your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
“i had a nightmare” you reply quietly. embarrassed of how childish you sound.
hyunjin hides his face on your hair taking a deep breath as he tightens his arms around you. “don’t worry” he hums, “i’ll protect you”
your heart speeds up, this time not beacuse of your nightmere, and you’re scared he’ll hear it and decipher your feelings so you turn around to face him, his face is so close to yours and his lips looks so inviting you can’t help the impulse that takes over you and you place your lips against him, it’s a soft and short kiss that you’re sure he didn’t even feel but he proves you wrong when he lays down to give a peck.
shocked you stay still waiting for him to do something. when you look up, he is looking at you with sleepy eyes and a lazy smile. hyunjin’s always been a tease but isn’t this a little too much?
“i like you too” he says and you can hear the cockiness in his voice. with a chuckle you place your ear against his chest, your hands grabbing at his shirt making sure he doesn’t go anywhere and you fall asleeping listening to his steady heartbeat.
